Richard Jones is one of my favorite new pros. Where is he now? I heard rumors that he quit competing, he is engaged, fed up with bodybuilding, going to school, even homeless....what is the real story?

I hope he is doing ok.

He has been posting here from time to time.
Maybe he'll answer it himself.

Last thing i heard from him is that he was concentrating on his MBA or something like that.

I cant find some of the threads...search capability is down. I haeard rumors that he quit bodybuilding and is now engaged and is no longer a police officer...I hope he is doing OK

MBA at Duke or Harvard can be expensive

I know he has left Cali to start his MBA. He told Shawn Ray that he has all but given up on being a pro, as it was/is far to expensive.

Did Shawn also say Rich's contract was cut when AMI took over?

About 160, but I admit I over dieted, I lost muscle in the process. I'm around 172lbs now.

Well, here I am........to answer the unanwsered! I love when people blow my e-mail up and say "you have to respond". There's always going to "haters, doubters, naysayers, and/or liers" out there so I only come to corroborate the truth.

NO, I am NOT homeless. I have a beautiful 3 bedroom, 2 bath, 2 car garage townhome. Oh it it is fully furnished with an office and an entertainment room. I have too many resources not to have a roof over my head. But I am looking to move far away once I tie up some loose ends here in Cali. Depends on whether or not I can transfer my credit over to another University out of state. We'll see.

YES, I am still trying for my MBA. But you guys and gals may know, that it is NOT cheap. However, it is something that only one other family member was able to achieve and I want to be the second one to do that. My brother was able to obtain his MBA from Harvard! Can't compete with that, but he is proud as well as my parents and the rest of my family. I have a sister that just graduated and is now a full fledge nurse. So, congrats to her. As this point in my life, my mind and my future AFTER bodybuilding has to be secured and I'm trying to do that.

As far as my contract with Weider, I can't really speak on that right now. But I will soon. I promise. There are going to be some changes soon. I'll let you know when that happens.

Now, bodybuilding......well, as we all know, this is an expensive sport on any level. So right now, my finances are keeping off the stage. By the way, I pay for school by myself. Some books are over $100 and you kneed them. Because of the expense, it may take me a little longer to complete my MBA than I originally anticipated. But, you won't be seeing me on stage anytime soon. Hopefully, sometime in the future. In fact, as far as my health goes, I just had my annual check up last week and I am very healthly and all organs are working properly. So, I'm happy about my health and don't plan on jeopordizing that for a possible 10th place spot and a 2nd tier show. Just my opinion.

As far as me being "engaged"....? Not yet! I hope one day that it happens.

Hopefully this respectfully answers your questions as to what "rumors" you may or may not have heard. But rumors will never die, just mutiply.

It's too bad that in this day & age, being smart (like Richard) and being a top-tier IFBB pro, by their very nature can be mutually exclusive. $:-\$

Tell me in how many "sports" an obviously gifted guy like Richard Jones just couldn't "afford" to be a pro.

That's a pretty harsh indictment of pro bodybuilding if you stop and think about it.
