Can't argue with Coltrane.  I eat chicken at least two-three times per day, and red meat only about once per day.

BUT, when I cease to compete anymore, I will switch to a more plant based diet.  Truth is, the scientific evidence of the protective effects of a plant-based diet are overwhelming, for disease prevention, treatment, and longevity.

But then again..who the hell on this board wants to live past 50 anyways right?  ;D :o
just not good enough

True, but the scientific evidence of decreased testosterone and increased estrogen levels in men on a plant-based diet is also overwhelming.  Who wants to be a 120 year old, femenine pencil neck?   ;)

The problem is not red meat, its the kind of red meat.  I eat grass fed beef every day.  The regular corn fed meat has a shitty fatty acid profile.  Grass fed is almost the same nutrition wise as salmon.  I also eat a lot of fibrous veggies such as spinach, swiss chard, and broccoli rabe.  I think the reason red meat got so much bad press was because of the shitty quality of it.  Grass fed beef along with plenty of soluble fiber and I think its very beneficial to someone who weight trains.  Confession:  I put olive oil on my steak.

I eat 3 or 4 Black Angus Porterhouse, T-bone and Ribeye steaks per week, cooked to absolute perfection on my Solaire Infrared grill and washed down with two 12 ounce hand-crafted Ginger Ales.   ;D
It makes me happy just thinking about it. lol

Eat as much lean red meat as you can. Great source of B vitamins and some natural creatine. I love chicken breast but they get old real fast. Colon cancer is largely heridiatary and probably correlates more with a low fiber diet. You can find studies that relate vegtables to impotence, eveybody that is impotent has ate some type of vegatble. Bottomline lean sources of complete proteins are what you want in your balanced diet.

I'm sorry bro, but that's DEAD WRONG! :o ::)

I'll be the first to say that nothing beats red meat for muscle growth, but don't go making such false remarks...who do you think you are, Muscletech? ;D  One of the most recent studies done on Colon cancer was the Adventist health study, with a huge cohort of 32,051 subjects!!! :o  They found that colon cancer is more like 20% heredity and 80% environmental :o  It's not even close ::)

Now I'm going to go have a steak ;D
just not good enough

I eat red meat in some fashion just about everyday

Red meat is a must to grow. When I started eating steak twice a day...I was so much stronger when I trained.

Si, seņor:

FYI:  Just include plenty of fiber in your diet.  This prevents colon cancer.  In addition to the fiber I get from oats, fruit and veggies, I drink a glass of V8 fruit juice with two tea spoons of pure Psyllium fiber powder, everyday.

Im suprised you can even leave the toilet to type

That would happen only if you are not used to a high fiber diet.  You are supposed to increase dietary fiber gradually, allowing your body to adapt.   And you think I consume a lot of fiber?  MidNiteRambo consumes 100g fiber a day.

I eat round eye or flank steak everyday, sometimes twice a day.  Very good for building solid muscle.

As far as cancer is concerned, they say EVERYTHING CAUSES CANCER.  I think a lot of cancer is caused from eating too many processed foods, not getting enough fiber intake, and lack of actual water.  Most people problably haven't drunk actual water in years and drink soda, beer, and whiskey instead.

That figure is accurate.  My body adapted to that much and I have no problems with it.  Plus, my blood sugar is completely in check.  It strikes me that with a high protein diet, particularly red meat, high fiber is a must.
