Well, the oil comes from Southern Nigeria, where as Boko Haram and their supporters are Northern. Most of the economy is sustained by the South, and apparently the (Southern) president has very little real influence in the Muslim North. Though an outside intervention might very well end up starting a repeat of the Biafran civil war.

Yes we do get oil but not as much as we used to. If they (Nigerians) started to attack and light oil fires that dramatically affected the export then I guess that would get our attention but nothing they've done so far has including all the killings.
