this is true.  Pop is right up there with Phil Jackson in terms of great coaches.

I was watching olbermann showing Duncan's 1st rookie game, he had some amazing game.  Still good, but I forgot how good he was at so many things.

CLE making a serious push for BOSH and LEBRON next year.  They can afford TWO max money guys.   And Irving + Wiggins would make up for what they'd lose with Wade.  CLE mgmt making all sorts of noise about being willing to mortgage everything to win NEXT YEAR (trading for a love/bosh for lebron, versus building their own team with draft picks).

I'm starting to think MIA is good and will have a decent chance against SA, but isn't NEAR as hungry as they were last year, and eveyrone has a foot out the door suddenly as the world realizes the big 3 is done.  Lebron's sweet tweet to Wade on his birthday - google it - this is their last season.

It could potentially be great marketing opportunity to have Lebron return to Cleveland.

How can he go back after dan gilbert went off on him about leaving.

I can see him going back though. If he wins there it would be great. That is one fucked up and ugly city.

I'm not sure about it.  But if I had to guess either way, I'm saying I think there's a good chance (particularly if SA cleans their clock) that one dude (probably Bosh) will bolt... at which point the whole house of cards comes falling down.

I've read more about it.  The league put in this year's 2014-5 cap just to stop the Heat from having a 3-player super-team like this.  This year, we'll see if they stopped them.  Wade will have to leave a whole lotta $ on the table here.

So yes, I think there's a good chance that SOMETHING happens to unravel all of it.  Wade takes the big $.  Or they cut him.  Or Bosh decides to bolt for a long term deal with more $ somewhere.  Or there's locker room beef when Spurs have them 3-1 in the Finals and everyone starts pointing fingers.   Or someone offers Lebron a Harden + Howard + longterm offer someplace.  Or Dan Gilbert does a public apology, etc.

He loves the spotlight, storyline, and yeah, retuning to CLE would be an awesome storyline.  Lebron + love/bosh + Kyrie irving + Wiggins = a pretty darn good team.

If they don't win the title, I'd say it happens - one piece falls, and everyone exits. Win the title, MAYBE they try to glue it all together for another year.

Whoa!! Whoa!! Whoa!!  Wait a minute.  You mean the same Spurs from last year.....the "old men that would never stand a chance against the young bucks of today" may clean Miami's clock....the territory of the great young Hebrew Israelite Lebron?!

They don't have all the same pieces they had last year.  That Mike Miller amnesty/scam/leaving for a contract elsewhere REALLY hurt them.  And the players aren't hungry this year like they were last year.  Dudes have their eyes on the door now- they can all leave now.

Last year, they were motivated and had the pieces.  This year, it's a crapshoot.  Spurs are WAY hungrier.  Wade missed 27 games... left side of his face is so obvious droopy from GH use.   Oden didn't pan out.  Haslem has been benched.  Ray Allen aged a ton this year.

It's a different team this year.  They can still turn it on and kick ass, but they're a middle aged team now.  Mike Miller alone - he was the dagger last year.  He's not there anymore.

So while the spurs are the same from last year - a tad older and way hungrier - the Heat are nothing like last year's club.

Hey 240s already gettin his excuses ready for Miami's loss to Spurs in the finals LOL.....the groundwork for why "the Spurs' win isn't pure" is being laid out in this very thread.

Reality is Spurs haven't beaten OKC yet.  Yeah they put on a clinic and took 2 at home, but this isn't Portland or Brooklyn....this is OKC and KD.....series is looooong from over.  I bet the Spurs drop both games 3 and 4 and this still goes to 7.   So what that OKC lost Ibaka....that's like the Spurs losing Diaw or Split.....it doesn't determine the fate of the series.

I love the Heat, but I know what I see versus last year.  The looks on their faces, the lack of Miller, the twitter stuff, the way they close games.  They are NOT the Heat of 2013.   I'm still a huge fan, but I'm not one of those fans like "Browns are going to the Super Bowl now!" kinda fans.  Heat will be underdogs in Finals for good reason :(

What 'Twitter stuff'

this year, lebron posted on wade's birthday... sounded like this was the last year  'whatever happens in the future, blah blah blah'.

could be nothing, but methinks wade demands top dollar and everyone on the team sees it coming - at least 1 of the big 3 would be gone in that case.  maybe the team gives up on Wade.  maybe they do pay him top $ and bosh bails.

we (yes i fucking said it as a miami native and HEAT fan) can leg bosh go. Allen is still the sniper and makes up for the loss of miller.

disagree.  lebron would take a lot more heat from defenders if he didn't have all-star like bosh to pull them away.  Yes, allen is good, but he's 38 and counting individual calories, weighing himself twice a day, in order to keep in this kind of shape.  He's going to start rapidly losing a step and it'll become harder to get open in 1-2 years.

AND without bosh to carry the heat for the 1/3 season that WADE has to sit out now, lebron is going to arrive in the postseason even MORE tired than he did this year.  He was whooped this year.  hit the wall at the end of the season and threw in the MVP towel.  Without wade, lebron got beat up a lot more.
