Nice abs but what the fuck , his claim to fame is abs and thats it , those abs would have looked even more impressive if he had some muscle on his frame .

Doug should've concentrated on bringing up the rest of his body to match his abs.

This dates from the late 70's. I remember the guy giving Joe Wieder credit for hist best abs prize in some show he entered.

anyone who says that doug would win is ignoring the "and thighs" part of the pose, along with other considerations.

If we were just looking at abs, of course almost anyone would lose.

But that pose does feature the quads as well, as well as overall body taper.

That is why ronnie beat Dex in a controversial ab and thigh:

The people who favored Dexter were only focusing on the abs.

The people who favored Ronnie were acknowledging that Dex had better abs, but also had inferior quads and body taper.

tough call.

but of course, at the Olympia, the tiebreaker has always gone with the current champion $:-\$
