I strive to remain absolutely stationary, without ending up inching forwards.  How do one do this the best way?

Go on youtube there is a place called Cut with Glass. Charles has a whole section about laterals. I think its the best. It shows you the perfect way. Cut with glass.

Pull up your skirt and try doing some squats....just a tad more demanding than laterals!  :D

Also, never use the word "core" again or I`ll fucking kill you.  ;)

I just noticed that this is no longer difficult, I am now doing them perfect. I only have 45lbs dumbbells. I just needed to gain the strenth from last workout, and I have done that.

I did 15 my last set. Now I will shoot for 14 at least.

I think I need more rest in between sets. It's hard to not press on when you're an eager young student of the game. I did 14 but the last 2 or three my body wanted to travel forward again.

So no body really knows?

If nobody knows the answer we can all learn something.

Longer rest seems to help some.

thought so

Are you just leaning forward or are you going back and forth? There's a difference. If you're starting to put you head down or just lean forward, you're probably trying to
transfer a part of the weight on your post-delt and not the middle-section or on your traps maybe. If you go back and forth, you're using your body weight and actually  your lower back to move the weight.

;D Wes very true... but when doing them i do them one arm at a time, free Hand Holding onto something. much better in my opinion. you can do one arm curls...etc , why not side raises?

I reduced fruit and increased rice and added beans. Seems to have worked so far. I doing the side laterals better than I have for at least a year. Probably longer, maybe best ever.

I'm doing squats.   ::) Why would I want to be weak and none explosive?

I do front squats with dumbbels and back pack with randomly placed weights for core strenth.

I also dead lift and do lunges. I don't do it so often because I realized doing lots of reps in a week doesn't make you stronger and bigger. There is balance of max performance and frequency as per subject I brought up in a nother thread.

yes it is very applicable to all circumstances and space saving requirements for the hard wooden floor living room.

I only dropped the rubber coated dumbbells once nothing happened , but the regular iron 55lbs dumbels of peace, once (only one) when I put one down on my office chair after front squatting and the chair recoiled like it was spring loaded, I failed to catch the weight in the air and it fell, I was also having the other dumbell still on my shoulder and the weight in the backpack or I would have been able to reach out and grab the fucker.

I washed the floor off with a rag so there is no discoloration.

Put on a pair of pink tights head to the gym and ask the receptionist if she can play its raining men by the weather girls, head to the aerobic floor sit on top of the medicine ball with 5 pound dumbbells in each hand, keep hand straight and go up and down doing your laterals.

I don't eat apples. And this one doesn't look appetizing at all. Fail.
