Serious question: whose idea were the board shorts?
« on: September 23, 2014, 01:47:58 PM »
I'm not demanding a full investigation or a blue-ribbon panel or any of that other bullshit.

There needs to be a change.  This is something that the decision-makers should've recognized after the first-ever IFBB men's physique pics were published.  And we fans are still here 2 years later wondering....

Agreed on the board shorts. Stupid idea on their part. I'm competing in mens physique for the first time in Nov and have to wear those silly things. I'd rather wear what they have in Dillett's federation (forget the name, WBFF?) where it looks basically like tight boxer trunks. Legs should count, not just the calf. I bust my ass doing squats 2ce a week along with other leg work for my own satisfaction, but if I were judged on that too, that would make me that much more motivated to train legs like an animal.

The board shorts bug me - but what bugs me even more, is that they don't hit any bodybuilding poses.... just do a couple of quarter turns - as if its a male figure contest.

Make them hit some bodybuilding shots.

Absolutely, both those board shorts and "posing" are ridiculous... WBFF's Muscle Models are clearly superior...

Women's Physique division even hit bodybuilding poses - why should men's physique be any different???  So stupid!

The guy who won this year Buendai used to compete in BB so he has legs.  Hitting poses would make it at least more than ab show.

I'm guessing it is because they want it to go somewhat mainstream.

See this:

This is a way better look than those stupid broad shorts.

Is still considered gay by most people.

Its as much a sport as bodybuilding, which no one outside bodybuilding takes seriously.

So they are the same.

I can accept that, but isn't it considered more mainstream these days to go in a gayer direction?  (not that there's anything wrong with that)

Wearing an item of clothing doesn't define gay
Sexual preference defines gay.

Gayer than wondering for two years about men's physique.

;D My thoughts exactly.  In all honesty, I heard they were swicthing over to the boxer brief look last year. What in the world could be the hold up?  ??? :'(
