Both would get their heads ripped off in round 1 by any of the current top 10 Muricans fighting in the same weight class.

You see the lack of "give a fuck" this thread is receiving?

Getbiggers want to see legit MMA fighting which usually translates 'Muricans bashing brazilians in the cage.

They want to see "real" sports which usually translates to The National 'Murican Basketball team dunking all over the brazilians en route to a 118 to 72 victory or The German Soccer team scoring goals left and right en route to a 8 to 1 victory over the brazilians.

Nobody cares about your fringe, meaningless hump sessions which would be absolutely useless in real life.

A drunk, naturally strong farm boy with zero "grappling" training would fare much better in a brawl then any of those "Gracies" you jerk off to in those youtube videos you constantly post.

Dear gracie bjj,
You are correct about Renzo.  I happen to be very close to the Gracie Family and when I am in Brasil, I spend quite a bit of time with Renzo's father, Robson, who is quite the character.
One of my best friends and Professors, Vitor Terra, is married to Hanna Gracie, one of Renzo's sisters.
Last time I saw Renzo was at his house, or should I say mansion, in Holmdell, New Jersey.  He had a few of us over for lunch and it was a great spread and he is just quite charming, friendly and yes, crazy in that Brazilian way.

Two of the very best. Both have proved it time and time again. Both with submission wrestling and MMA. If there is a hall of fame both would be near the top of 1st round entries.

Both are legends but would be defeated (both of them at the same time) by Darren Avey.

Two of the very best. most overrated. Both have proved it time and time again. Both with submission wrestling and MMA beating up untrained plumbers, carpenters and pool hall tough guys back in the 90's. If there is a hall of fame both would be near the top of 1st round entries.  Nowhere near the discussion of getting in because both of their records are shit versus decent opposition.

Fixed.

Dear hardgainerj,
That is pretty funny as Brazilians in general, especially the Gracies, have trouble accepting loss.
I am closest with Royler and he is a very humble person who actually accepts losing really well.  But again, they don't lose as often as most others so perhaps it's a bit harder for them.  I am sure it has to be a result of many factors but especially, the way they were all raised together.  I get crushed quite often so I understand losing as well as winning.
As far as I can tell from all of my personal interactions with the Gracies, Royce has the toughest time accepting loss.
I know there will be much criticism of what I write now, but until someone comes out and provides proof, it still stands that Rickson Gracie has never lost a BJJ match or an MMA match.  Before you go nuts, I know MMA was different then in terms of advancement and number of persons training and competing.  Trust me, I am not waiving any Rickson flag for personal reasons, but, when you watch what he did to everyone after a seminar, submitting one person after another, sometimes 25 in a row, each one in less than 15 seconds and the fact that no one ever came out and said, "I beat Rickson in this particular tournament, on this particular day, etc" he, Rickson, is by far, the most amazing person I have ever met.  Again, not my favorite person, but truly on another level.

Yep, a buddy of mine was at a Rickson seminar and I guess he was teaching some advanced people a simple arm bar technique and one of the guys made a comment about being there and expecting to learn something that they already didn't know. Rickson proceeded to take each guy and submit them each with the exact same arm bar. They even knew ahead of time that he would use the same arm bar. After he was done submitting all of them he told them that you can never be too good at knowing the basics. Guess he got his point across.

Dear Disgusted,
Funny you tell that story as I was mocking the idea of Rickson calling his BJJ "Invisible" for days before I trained at this seminar.  He showed the move, a simple move, 3 times and then had us go back with a partner to practice.  I couldn't remember nor replicate a single thing  he did. It was like that for all levels of attendees.  It was as if it was something only he could do yet he showed the most basic, simple things.
In hanging out with him, one immediately realizes he is not like everyone else and that he operates on a different plane.
Again, not my favorite Gracie given my interactions with him, but, his BJJ can not be denied.

Everybody who has rolled with Rickson keep saying the same thing: They have never felt someone who was so natural and so good at bjj.
It's been brought up by a bunch of bjj blackbelts through the years.
I just think its too bad that we never got to see Rickson in the UFC in the early days or that he was 10 years younger and could have competed in some of the shows around ufc 20-40.

yeah, he did. not all of his opposition in Japan were cans, but I have a feeling if it had been him instead of Royce vs Kimo at UFC 3 it would have been a completly different story (that fight caused Royce to have to throw in the towel in the match following that before it started),
I think he would have stopped Kimo inside of 2 mins without that "ponytail-transition to armlock" finish that Royce used.
I'm not a Gracie fanboy by any stretch, but Rickson was something else....
And I would have loved to see him vs Don Frye, Mark Coleman and Dan Severn.

Gracie Family send Royce to the UFC because he was the weakest one of the family at the time.

yeah I know about that story. I think theres also some reason being thrown around about it being because one of Ricksons brothers tried to trick him into fighting almost for free by having him sign a contract in english (at the time he didnt speak a word of english) that would make him fight almost for free.
But what you say Ive heard before. "he looked like a kid and was lighter" etc. so that might be the whole truth. who knows?
