A lot of these guys have been acting like theyre in fucking iraq, and every animal could be a fckn VBIED.
I dont know how these policeman keep getting the same mentality we had in the Marines, but they do.
They see everyone as a potential enemy. Except theyrr the police, not the Marine Corps.
I remember having to put down a goat cause he kept charging us when we were on patrol and most dogs over there are more bark than bite..most times we'd just peg them with a small rock and they run off yelping never to bother us again. We didn't shoot too many being our CO gave strict orders for that type of action to be last resort type shit and gave us the speech about how the report of fire gives away your position to potential snipers etc...but in reality I think he hated to explain up the amount of reimbursement vouchers we had to hand out for the damaged property loll.. and boy did we go through vouchers hahaha
They (Civies) come to our FOB and whine about getting a voucher for anything. Damaged bags of grain, carpets, furniture, wall repair, animals, wagon parts, dishes, broken perfume bottle... literally anything. We had to start putting in rules like when and where it happened (Intel would cross check it with engagement record) cause they bring in some feral looking dog that was dead for days and say it was their beloved pet that was shot by a US soldier for no reason. We issued $10 for dogs which is a lot of money for most.
We'd joke and say before we head into a combat zone we should have a PX put up close by for the civies... it'd be cheaper
