Folks,
We've all heard it. We've heard the talks about the demise of professional bodybuilding due to heavy hormonal supplementation, distended guts, insulin abuse, disproportional body parts and so forth, being just around the corner.
For a number of years now, I've begun to look closely into the Men's Physique division. I believe it is a division that can best resonate with the common masses. I believe it instills a sense of realistic goals for an outsider looking into the idea of bodybuilding. Simply put, the Men's Physique division can be better marketed to the general population. It is more mainstream, sought out by the common man and admired by women.
I think the days of pharmaceutical-grade giants dominating the big stage are slowly dwindling down and will be replaced with the moderate presentation that is seen on the Men's Physique Olympia.
Bodybuilding needs to go back to its roots. It needs to become the flag bearer for healthy living and physically appealing bodies worth emulating.
Arnold was at the pinnacle of bodybuilding. His body and overall presentation was admired, loved and sought out after by even Hollywood. I think we need to go back to bodybuilding's roots. I think we need to bring back the Arnold physique.
What looks more like Arnold's physique? You be the judge:

The Key here is that things are getting a bit out of proportion and it's not looking as aesthetically pleasing as one would expect. Bigger is not necessarily better, better is better when it comes to bodybuilding.
Small waists, low body fat, high vascularity, well-defined musculature and balanced proportions is where it's at.
