Scrap physique
Scrap the 212
Bring back over 200 and under 200
Mark down distended guys
Mark down obvious synthol use

Problem solved  :)
2 AND 3 ARE THE SAME THING..

You can promote men's physique all you want (specially now that Bodybuilding is going thru a shitty face of "stars")

But, as soon as some guy emerges with "Coleman like dimensions", it will be all over for the entire "Men's physique hype"

You will see every single BB fan lining up at Expos, to take pics ,get autographs and buy stuff from the most impressive bodybuilder around...

while the physique guys fix their hair, sell tan products  etc...

There's no way you can go back in time to the men's physique of the 60's and 70's without getting stuck in the 90's,  no way .
That was, is and it will always be the ultimate physique era

I posted pics of this guy on another thread but he and Postin seem to be doing well as far as garnering ubiquitous work in the healthcare industry.

I'm not sure of the fate of Men's bikini but they seem to be packing in competitors at NPC shows.

Folks,

We've all heard it. We've heard the talks about the demise of professional bodybuilding due to heavy hormonal supplementation, distended guts, insulin abuse, disproportional body parts and so forth, being just around the corner.

For a number of years now, I've begun to look closely into the Men's Physique division. I believe it is a division that can best resonate with the common masses. I believe it instills a sense of realistic goals for an outsider looking into the idea of bodybuilding. Simply put, the Men's Physique division can be better marketed to the general population. It is more mainstream, sought out by the common man and admired by women.

I think the days of pharmaceutical-grade giants dominating the big stage are slowly dwindling down and will be replaced with the moderate presentation that is seen on the Men's Physique Olympia.

Bodybuilding needs to go back to its roots. It needs to become the flag bearer for healthy living and physically appealing bodies worth emulating.

Arnold was at the pinnacle of bodybuilding. His body and overall presentation was admired, loved and sought out after by even Hollywood. I think we need to go back to bodybuilding's roots. I think we need to bring back the Arnold physique.

What looks more like Arnold's physique? You be the judge:

The Key here is that things are getting a bit out of proportion and it's not looking as aesthetically pleasing as one would expect. Bigger is not necessarily better, better is better when it comes to bodybuilding.

Small waists, low body fat, high vascularity, well-defined musculature and balanced proportions is where it's at.

I believe there is an audience and an interest in both physique and what some refer to as mass monsters or bodybuilding today. But throughout time, trends cycle. Look at what is popular today when it comes to women's figures as opposed to what was popular in the 60's. Kim's butt would have been an even bigger joke in the 60's than it is now. Marilyn Monroe's pointy boobs would look odd today.

As long as you have the same judges doing men's physique also doing bodybuilding, then it's just a matter of time before Men's physique becomes distorted and all fukced up.

I agree that he is no Arnold, but, then again, who is?

I think the kid has a good physique, one that is very marketable and can land him many sponsorship deals with the big magazines, supplement companies and even modeling/acting companies, not to mention the approval of the mainstream.

For people outside the bodybuilding world this kid is already excessively muscular and ripped. A juicehead freak. I hate the labeling but it's like that in "real life".

who are the main ticket and fart tub buyers?

nice one, "1", but men aren't supporting a bunch of guys who are trying to be pretty boys.

no way in hell men's physique surpasses bbing.

i'd bet Chaos having a clean criminal history on it.

MPD was never intended to replace bodybuilding or any other division.
The main idea was to get the husbands and bf's of bikini contestants to enter contests with them in a more "user friendly" division.
The number of paid entrants now in the US and Nationals in 800-900 paying $200 each.

I don't believe Men's Physique is trying to replace bodybuilding, bodybuilding is just becoming boring, theres very few pros that are inspiring, they don't even spend any time on their posing routines, Labrada, Paris, Ray, Benfatto amongst others displayed their physiques beautifully, like art in motion, watching them was inspiring, theres no creativity these days, they just freestyle it on stage, dance a little and hit a few poses, it's boring. They implemented Mens Physique to add something new to the sport.

Mens physique is even more boring, they all look the same and there's 50 of them competing. Bikini is the same too. Judging them is a joke

Why can't we just go back to the standard of the 90's? Simple.

I fully agree it's all boring and cramming in all those different categories in one contest is just ridiculous! There is no way I could even sit through a contest.
