According to the current trend on getbig with the galeniko diet etc, more and more members are believing that a surplus of calories and carbohydrates merely inflate the muscles with glycogen, but does not necessarily grow them or is a requirement for growth. On the other hand I've never met a national level competitor who maintains on less than 4000kcal.
