I remember when I went on holiday to Morocco. The markets were full of fake replica soccer jerseys. Some of these were so bad, even misspelling the players names at the back.

Yes, some back in the day made false names in jersey and low quality but things are getting better now.

I didn't end up buying anything but all my friends did. One got a Louis Vuitton manbag as well as some Ralph Lauren polos.

I went to Marrakech. We visited a few clubs but I got the Zeta Jones lookalike from a bar called Montecristo. All the clubs were crawling with hookers so I couldn't resist. And yes, Moroccan women are damn fine!

Yeah, I remember paying a fair amount for them. Something like 1000dhs. Your a native so can probably get things cheap, but it's harder for us tourists.

105 assists in the league - most in history
4 ballon d'or wins (world player of the year) - most in history

cant think of any German's who've done that...
but i do agree with you about their team. both Germany and Bayern Munich the two best teams in the world international and club (even though the latter is managed by a Spaniard!)

Messi and Ronaldo are two of the best to ever step foot on the pitch but to me they get to much exposure because Real Madrid and Barcalona are up Fifa's ass. Also...nobody plays defense in La Liga...you can't because of all the diving. Mess and CR7 both sell a shitload of product hence they win lots of publicity awards like the Ballon d'Or.

The Germans also have legendary footballers but because of WW2 and the Bundesliga's smaller market they don't get the international attention they should. That's why teams like Bayern make dumb management mistakes and hire ex-Barcalona coaches

Germany have placed 1st, 2nd or 3rd in 12 of 18 World Cup tournaments. They might not produce individual players like Messi or Pele (I think Ger Muller was) but that level of National team consistency is phenomenal and should be recognized.

Soccer is a form of entertaining before it's who wins and who looses. So this is the reason why the german team and it players aren't appreciated world wide. Every player in the team is good and they win their games but in a boring way.

you can't get too much exposure when you have the stats and ability they do mate, goal to game ratios of almost 1 in 1 for the past 5 seasons.

not sure what their mass market appeal has to do with them winning their multiple ballon d'ors since the votes are cast by national team managers and captains!

Guardiola won the title in record time, fastest title win in bundesliga history in his first season. Bayern also have the most points in a calender year in bundesliga history - only 1 point behind for the record in one season.
best goal difference, most goals scored and least conceded in a single season, highest average points per game, most consecutive wins - all records broken under Guardiola.
same guy who won 14 trophies at Barca in 4 seasons, highest win % in their history and created a team widely regarded as the best club team in history - won the treble in his first season including league and champions league....this guy was a managerial mistake???

i said before that Germany are by far the best international team around and Bayern the best club team. also imo Bundesliga is the best league in world football.
