...in the Pro BB circuit. I know he was one of those "slow-starters" but his genetics seem flawless.

Wonder where he is today, what he looks like, etc., etc.,

Charles beat Flex Wheeler & Kevin Levrone at the 1993 British Grand Prix

Apparently Charles won 4 out of the 5 European Grand Prix shows that year

Are there any pics from that show?

One of my favorite BB pics.

That and the top pic, he looks like a Flex/Chris Cormier hybrid

Great physique. Unfortunate timing to be on stage with the best bodybuilders of all time.

I don't think so.

I know that Levrone & Wheeler competed in the Olympia that year. That's what they focused on. I think that Clairmonte missed his peak at the 93 Olympia; but instead, peaked for the European Grand Prix tour.

I always liked him.  Great from the front, but I can't remember what his rear shots looked like.

one of the most underrated physiques ever, def agree he was unlucky to be competing in the most competitive generation.
now he would easily be the top physique imho
also one of the nicest guys you could ever meet, really down to earth and still looking good and training hard!

J.D. Dawadu was another one...

JD is legit the freakiest fucking physique ive seen in person, he was a beast but ifbb politics and his lifestyle meant he stopped giving a fuck, just packed it in.
kept wrong people around him. insanely good bodybuilder

I've seen him in person. Not as freaky as Coleman.

Coleman is the pinnacle though, nobody has or will ever be as freaky as him.
JD runs him close speaking in context

There was an NPC guy in the 90's and early 2000's David Hughes, very similar appearance- but never a IFBB Pro. Hughes' waist got too big neat the end.

The thing that struck me about JD was his waist. Back when he was an amateur his waist seemed smaller. And then when got bigger it blew up. Dude had some awesome arms. Looks to have a split peak on his biceps.

Look at their arms, you rarely see the level of detail---biceps and triceps separation in the front DB pose. People were on Justin Compton's glittery thong about his arms, but they lack detail like this.

Seems like that David Hughes dude started getting the Palumboism shit going on.

I remember seeing him a lot, not sure if he was with Muscletech. Makes me wonder about some of those guys like Aaron Madron...

We all know what happened to Kovacs...

I think I saw Hughes in an Ironman mag not too long ago. I don't really care for Balik's style of side lighting and all that stuff.. or lights from the floor up... it made him look weird.

Pretty sure he's getting up there in age.

Always dug this pic. Glad I kept the book. "Anabolic Muscle Mass" by Robert Kennedy. Full of super cool pics.

In looking through this book now...it's kind of sad. Very sad. A lot of these dudes are no longer with us. Not sure about John Sherman. Seems to me I recall him passing. Some of the guys in this book can't even be found on the net. Like this dude Frank Richards from the U.K... he had a fro, but damn he was shredded up. There's some stuff on YT, but no good pics (that I can find) on the internet.

Charlies game was conditioning and amazing lines, he lost that as he tried to keep up with the big guys... In his nabba universe years he was totally amazing, id say him, levrone and Newman are my favourite bodybuilders by a mile...
