Isn't this an inherently limiting prospect? Is the best you you can be great? Or is it just middle of the pack?
If you truly believed that you had the ability to earn a billion dollars, would you put in the effort to do that or would you be satisfied with less money?
Is there ever an excuse to limit your potential?
I guess if the pursuit of money is your end goal when would enough be enough, why stop at a billion? I honestly don't think much in life is impossible, it's whether you're willing to over come failure after failure, rejection after rejection until you find success.
If I bench 600 pounds of course I'll want to bench more, but even when I reach that goal it won't be an act that I'll be able to do forever, it will be for a limited time like everything in life.
Since this is a bodybuilding board, we can see the mindset you describe in today's physiques, the constant effort to push just a little further, to get a little bigger, lean out just a little more......except in this case we call that mindset a sickness.
How is being the best me I can be limiting myself? There will never be another me, or you. Comparing your self to others is fine if that's what you do. That means you believe everyone is equal and the only limiting factors are how hard you work, the reality is that there is only one President of the United States at a time, and no matter how hard you work at becoming president you still face factors out of your control, but for the vast majority just being able to say you ran for the presidency is quite an accomplishment.
The question I think you want to ask yourself is how do you define success, and how does that definition fit into your idea of happiness?
I think we should always be striving to grow and improve but it's also important to remember that we are passing through this life and we need to stop and enjoy what we do have and have accomplished.
