Samir Bannout.

I'd think Samir would fight you to the death to keep his Sandow.  Without it he's not even Boyer Coe (no jumping shoe invention).

The Sandow is a coveted award that few have won. We won't be seeing many ever go on sale while the champions are alive.

That means there might be some available from estates of champions who have died. Larry and Sergio are gone. I don't think

Sergio's trophies would come up for auction because Sergio Jr would treasure them. I wonder about Larry's estate.

Does anyone here know what has happened to Larry's trophies?

Another thing to consider, is perhaps it's from the Weider offices or an ex employee or similar. I could see there being a few around as props and souvenirs for photo ops, high level Olympia officials, and such.

Another thing is that he has a Cyr trophy which is/was used at the Arnold Classic, chances are that the Sandow and the Cyr came from the same person. I'm thinking it's from Ben Weider's estate. He'd have easy access to an extra Sandows, and was a huge admirer of Cyr, so he's was bound to have an original Cyr trophy or copies.

Indeed, there is even a picture of Ben Weider with a similar or exact Cyr trophy here on the upper left -

So is this Sandow fake or real?  Does anyone know for sure?

It certainly seems plausible to me that some former Mr O would put their Sandow on e-bay if they needed money.  Maybe Chris Dickerson?

If this is real, I would think some rich schmoe would snap it right up.

FAKE, auction house would sell real statues  ;) ebay sells fakes  :D

No weight,height & dimension details  8)

4 years ago silver Sandow , supposedly Seig Klain 1 was sold for $ 380  on Ebay, now in Melbourne

Arnold Classic Louis Cyr statue/trophy was GREEN bronze & different look  ;)

Weider office was decorated with tons of fake/cheap bronze statues.

Guys just some "insider info" on my musclephone that I'm not supposed to make public or it will cost my membership,   but since my 3 year intro subscription price of $19.99 a month is about to double  I'm canceling the service anyway.

Turns out we have a Mr. Olympia who has lived well beyond his means. His "keeping up with the Jones" mentality has led him to walk away from a lucrative supplement endorsement,  only to start his own label which is a MAJOR financial albatross. Due to pristine warehouse conditions as well as strict micro/macro ratios he's literally losing money on every tub of protein powder he sells.

Other life factors like: his pending divorce, handbag and custom shoe collection, cell phone data overage charges (mostly spent on social media silencing the haters), and an expensive,  as well as controversial,  clavicle lengthening surgery have taken their financial toll.

Despite his public persona consisting of bravado and other typical alpha behavior behind the scenes he's rumored to be a broken man.

While he tells the press that he considers selling a Sandow no big deal, as he will win many more, that's it's really a token gesture of giving back to the fans, we know the real reasons.

Good luck Mr. Heath.

Real Sandow:

- Weight 17 pounds
- Height 16"
- Gold original, weight is 19 pounds
- Gold statue reported value in 1901 was 500 pounds (around $2500)
- At Nabba Mr.Universe 1948 , Steve Reeves was presented with a  bronze Sandow
- Serge Nubret awarded Steve Reeves with Gold Sandow on Wabba Mr.World in Paris

- The Sandow handed to Mr.Olympia winners is based on Mullers & Sons foundry statue discovered by betty Weider in an antique store
- Nobody knows how many statues was produced by Mullers foundry ???
- Mr.Olympia statue is smaller, Base 5 1/2" wide,  5 1/4"deep, 1 3/4' high
- Modern Sandows are made by Great American Bronze Works Inc.

The statue and the Mr 'O title have become quite overrated since they gave it to Jay & Phil..

What a shame for bodybuilding that Joe came up with this silly notion of Mr Olympia. He set bodybuilding back with that foolish idea. Then he adds insult to injury by coming up with the Sandow statue. Wtf is that? Sure a nice bronze but Sandow doesn't represent physical perfection. Reeves would have been a better choice.

Have a look at the beautiful sculpture of Dorian by Matthew Smith. Except for the ugly veins on one biceps that is one magnificent sculpture.

Silly statues  . . . Can someone post the pic of this knob standing next to the statue he bought and stood next to in a picture as he attempted to sell "his penthouse." If it is a real Sandow, someone earned it, unlike the trophies you stole when you fixed the 70 Canada.

Just wait till Schmoe Weider's private reserve collection of soiled posing thongs hit the auction block. Many of schmoes will be fighting over that last second bid

not many people want to buy my used and soiled Shizzo posing thong.  ???

Pretty sure that was an "honorary statue" given to Ray Cutler by Jay.
You see back in 2007, Jay was afraid that Ray would enter the contest and steal his glory/dethrone him from his Olympia. Jay sucked a few dicks and had this "honorary statue" created and presented it to his superior brother as a way to deter him from competing.

Little did Jay know: Ray likes the simple life and could care less about the Olympia. He saw the direction bodybuilding was heading and wanted nothing to do with it. However, an "honorary" Sandow could reach at least $10k, and Ray saw the chance to purchase another motorcycle. So GetBig, be generous with your eBay bets. It's for the greater good of Ray Cutler.

Not real.  Though I would suspect if anyone sold their Mr O trophy it would be Dickerson.
