I am often challenged on isolation exercises, because I have a home gym with zero machines. I frequently have to monkey-patch things together.

incline flyes is great for upper chest if you do them right

superset with some incline presses

Rather than a straight superset what I find feels good is one then the other in one set. With a good squeeze after each rep. 20 reps of that should get your pecs burning.

Ive been off flyes for about a year because of my shoulder. I suppose it's time to test it again.

Shane Sweatt (my trainer) had me doing 1.5 reps for inclines: down, up halfway, down, up full extension. That's one rep.

He does show some great stuff too with bands and such. Itīs more on the inner/outer Rotation and understanding how the muscle works. obviously you are an advanced trainer -aj- but i see so many young guys just doing Benches and such but not really understanding what is going on in their body. I always explain what is going on to people in a language they understand.

I just do incline, flat, decline then cross overs ....that's always been the basics of my chest training. Chest grows evenly.

If youre meant to have a good chest, then you will, no matter what exercise you do.

Incline, flat, decline, it all doesn't matter. Some Irish guy at my gym has a barrel sized chest and doesn't even do flat or incline barbell press. He does mostly hammer strength presses and machine work for chest.

Stop with this ridiculous nonsense.

Sure, but even so, the changes will be minor. Are those minor changes enough to get really technical and detailed about your workouts? Well, I guess for some it is.

Do you are saying that I will never have upper pec mass? I am not sure I like the dark turn this conversation has taken.

understanding is everything if you want to avoid injury or are injured. If you want maximum effect why not try variations? I find the guys videos outstanding. i remember a Gym i worked in about 9 years ago i worked a lot with a woman who was a physiotherapist. I learned as much as i could from her. It definitely helped me as i learned further. i understand your post but i like variations.

If I change up any angles or anything, its just so I don't get bored doing the same routine. I guess sometimes it has helped. But, overall, my strong bodyparts grow no matter what I do, as opposed to my weak bodyparts (chest).  :'( :'( :'(

I vary my workouts and try different angles and whatnot. But at the end of the day, my chest is always going to fail in comparison to my stronger bodyparts. Sure, I guess changing up angles has helped slightly, but its not like changing the angle will all of a sudden make my chest my strongest body part.

As I said before, I vary my workouts just so I don't get bored. Not because I think varying the angle will unlock some secret ingredient to growth.
