I have zero abs at my weight now. I do like beer.  ;D Working hard so far this week. Hope to get three days in row then maybe one or two days off.  Even worked my calves hard knowing people with zero calves laugh at my calves.
i drink wine a bit more now too,,,i have abs all in just not popped tight to skin 'lower part is blurred to me...lower chest gets smooth too,,other than that i'm cool till next summer,,i like training a bit heavier for some reason 'pumps'better with the carbs, veins in arms/forarms ,,

Delt and arm day:

Dumbbell delt press 2 x 8 50lbs (all the way down)
Dumbbell delt lateral 2 x 10 25lbs
Dumbbell rear delt lateral 2 x 10 30lbs.
Barbell shrug 2 x 10 250lbs

Ez bar curls 2 x 10 90lbs
Machine curls 2 x 10
Single D handle pulley curl 2 x 12

Weighted dips 2 x 10 25lbs (went as deep as I could)
Tricep machine 2 x 10
Traditional tricep pushdowns 3 x 12 (this machine I was using 130lbs and my home unit 80lbs feels like a ton. That's why I never use machine weight because it's meaningless.)

Barbell wrist curls 2 x 20 95lbs
Reverse wrist extensions 1 x 15

Ab coaster 2 x 20 10lbs (try to do them with little momentum.)
Seated Machine crunch 2 x 15
Lying machine crunch 2 x 12

Jumped on treadmill for 6 x 440 yard intervals. Did two at 8:30 minute mile pace, two at 8:00 minute pace and finally two at 7:30 mile pace. Felt pretty easy. The rest interval between them was a 220 yard walk at 3.8 MPH.

Gym Observations:  Two guys who were almost the stereotypical lunk head bodybuilders having a meeting of the minds. The conversation went something like this, Lifter #1 " Wearing sunglasses in the gym and a baseball cap shows you're a scum bag. Lifter #2 "I wear a baseball cap sometimes in the gym. Lifter #1 "but you wear it backwards and that's cool.  Lifter #2 "I would bet my whole paycheck, my whole pay check that Tom couldn't beat me in the ring." Lifter #1 "We are two bad punching machines. Look at my reach. Nobody is getting by that."  Me, "Are you guys boxers?" Lifter#1, "He is. I just know what I can do." Me, " I only had five fights in the ring but that was enough for me to learn that I don't like getting hit in the face. That's why I'm still so pretty."

I made up nothing about the above.  Second observation. Watched a trainer with his 75 year old client pushing him a little to hard. One machine to another with no rest. On top of it did he really have to count his reps?

Last observation. Why do high school boys have to do the same routine?  Four came in and they all did the same thing.  Never understood that mentality. I mean there's nothing wrong with a training partner but really 4 guys around a curl machine taking turns?

Merry Christmas and a happy new years you filthy animals.

 >:(  :o No workout to post today. I drove to the gym, arriving at 3:08 p.m. only to discover they closed at 3:00 p.m. which is earlier than it was on Christmas eve. I guess I know where the gym employee's priorities are. A party night is more important than a family night.  ::)

The gym will be open from 7:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. tomorrow as well. This means the staff will be working while hung over and probably with very little sleep. Being as how both New Year's Eve and New Year's day are on the weekend, party time will no doubt be both nights and maybe Saturday night. Not for me, I'll be lucky to stay up until midnight! My party days are long gone.  :'(

A home gym at this point would be great. Ah well, next week will be back to normal. Sometime between now and Sunday I need to work shoulders, abs, pecs, quads and calves.

Anyway, Y'all have a great and safe New Year's.

Judging from the lack of posts today, everyone must have really partied hardy last night.

I fixed cheese fondue which is a New Year's staple in our house. Served it with a green salad and French bread cubes for dipping. After a bit we each had a sliver of German chocolate cake for desert. -Stayed up until midnight to welcome in the New Year, but avoided going out front to make a bunch of noise, since it was colder than a witch's tit out.

Kudos to me, I worked delts, traps and abs today at the gym before it closed at 3:00 p.m. -Nothing new about the routine to post. I increased the resistance on all but one exercise which works the rear delts. I'm also still doing back raises using bodyweight only. To these I added two more reps. I'm up to 18 reps. When I get to 25 reps, I'll start adding some resistance.

I drank a little more than usual too. Fortunately I am not subject to having hangovers. I slept my usual 10 hours.

If you drink a fair amount of alcohol, be sure to rehydrate yourself by drinking lots of water before you go to sleep. You might have to get up during the night to pee, but you are peeing out the poisons....so this is a good thing.

Tomorrow is quads and calves day. I am really looking forward to it. My main change up will be adding squats to my routine....I might actually use some resistance.  :)

Today I works pecs and abs. It was a very satisfying workout. I believe I've broken a barrier. I was able to increase the resistance on each exercise and each set by 20 lbs. When I was done, I was both mentally and physically "pumped". I've been sticking my puffed up chest out like a Marine in training.

No pumping today, at least not at the gym. We got snowed in last night and tomorrow the freezing rain commences. There is a road closed sign on the street in front of my house. This is a joke to you folks who get snow on a regular basis. When we get it, everything comes to a halt. The city has yet to plow the street here.

Trained back and chest:

Pull ups 3 x max
Seated lat cable row 3 x 12
Single dumbbell row off bench 2 x 10 80lbs (all the way down and up)
Narrow grip pulldown 2 x 10

Dumbbell flat bench 2 x 8 80lbs (went as low as I could)
Incline dumbbell bench 2 x 8 65lbs (shoulder acting up)
Flat flies 2 x 10 45lbs
Machine flies 2 x 10

Deadlift 2 x 4 300lbs then 1x1 325Lbs.
Weighted hyper lower back extensions 2 x 15 (25lbs plate held behind head)

Ab coaster 2 x 20 40lbs resistance (I'm careful not to use momentum)
seated machine crunches 2 x 15
lying machine crunches 2 x 12

Gym Observations:

Two well built young guys in their twenties training with very moderate weights. I have seen this so many times. It makes me question why I bust my balls with weights that are heavy for me.

This new gym I'm in is practically empty when I train. I have few stories to tell.  One thing that really stands out in this gym is how nice everyone is.  I was deadlifting and young guy said do you want to use my chalk? This would never happen in the giant super gym I was previous working at. The owner has said to me if you ever need a spot give me a shout.  This is the owner. The five personal trainers in the previous giant gym wouldn't even spit at you unless you paid them. I'm sure this gym has the typical steroid guys strutting their temporary drug muscles but for the most part there are just serious trainers here. The owner is a hard core martial arts guy so there are fighters there who are just supplementing their fight game.

Just miss the hotties from the old gym.  They really go out of their way to turn on the guys with their outfits. Haven't seen any sights here yet.

Cardio day. Did 8 x 440 yard repeats. Did two at 8:30 pace, two at 8:00 minute pace, two at 7:30 pace and two at 6:59 pace per mile. I'm drenched in sweat. I'm in really bad cardio shape since the nerve damage in my foot. Slowly gaining ground though. 6 months ago I had trouble walking and had to tell the wife to slow down in the store because I couldn't keep up because of the pain. Now I'm running again. Not pain free but good enough.  ;D

Hit the heavy bag at the commercial gym for two three minute rounds. The bag at the gym is suspended from a 20 foot ceiling. It sways like crazy.  I have to watch I don't run into some equipment and break something.

I do? We got rid of the treadmill because it took up too much room in the garage. There is a few dumbbells in the garage that an ant could lift. I have one of those spring thing that can be used for chest, but I rarely use it. The only good training equipment I have at home is my body.  :D

Good news, the roads are pretty much clear today. I can resume working out at the gym now. As was supposed to happen last Sunday, I will work legs.

My right butt cheek is a bit tender from the testosterone shot yesterday. I suspect I should go back to the 22 gauge needles instead of the 20 gauge ones I've been using lately.

My quads and calves workout might have been two days late, but it was great! I was so excited to finally be able to get out of the house, I hit the gym early today. The routine was the same one I have been using for a month now, alternating quad and calf exercises. Stuck to the prescribed # of reps for quads and upped them on calves. I increased the resistance on all of them. Squats were added in just cause I want to continue doing them until I can actually hoist some weight with my legs. As I have been doing each day the last several weeks, I finished off my routine by working abs. Today I used the Ab Coaster, setting it in all three positions and doing 20 reps in each.

My weight is constant, with it being anywhere from 175 lbs. to 180 lbs. A five pound variance is just water weight. Tonight I am fixing that good old standby, chicken breasts with rice and mixed vegetables.

Trained leg:

squats 3 x 8 225lbs (legs weakened by hard cardio yesterday didn't feel I was going deep enough)
leg press 2 x 12
leg ext 3 x 12
standing leg curl 2 x 10

standing calf 2 x 15 (I use over 300lbs in my home unit. In this gym 185 felt like a ton)
seated calf 2 x 15 80lbs

neck machine 2 x all positions. Front, side and back.

seated ab crunch machine 2 x 12
lying ab crunch machine 2 x 15
ab coaster 2 x 20 40lbs (some people give digs to this machine but I think it's great especially if you make an effort to go as high as you can.)

Gym Observations:  Wish I had some. This gym is boring. Old people and a couple of young bucks working out hard. Only one girl that was even remotely good looking. Damn the last gym was hottie after hottie. I just know women don't like to train in hard core gyms. They like stuff that looks fancy and this isn't it. I leave this place with rust stains on my sweat pants from some of the equipment.
