Favorite/Scariest Horror Villain

I am watching Nightmare on Elm Street now, which inspired this thread.

The two that freaked me out the most were Pennywise and Candyman. Basile is a close 3rd.

Myers, Candyman, and Joe Spinell  as Frank Zito / Maniac for me. Also the voice work in the Exorcist creeped me out as a kid.

For whatever reason, individual scenes affect me more than characters in horror films -

For instance, any eyeball violence -

The train scene in Maniac screwed me up for a lot of years. I saw it when I was young, and my mom worked nights, so if she was ever late, my mind would flash on that scene -

Scroll to 38:00 - 44:00. Still creeps me out sometimes .

Also the pull apart scene in Day of The Dead, but I got over it quick though. -

A senile 1st grade teacher at my elementary school played a movie that one of her students brought from home, but it just so happens that the movie was called "Child's Play". She wasn't fired, even reprimanded for all I know, but ended up retiring a few years later.  This was in the early 90's/late 80's, but could you imagine the outrage it would have caused today?

Lol, half the reason we shouldn't have watched shit like this at a young age, is that you actually can't discern 100% between fiction and reality. After watching Nightmare on Elm Street when I was 7 or 8 (ffs) I layed in bed and it felt like the probablity of Freddy coming for me that night was like 95% hahaha

In contrast, watched the Babadook recently which is a pretty creepy film and every now and then I remind myself that in every scene there are about 50 people hiding in the background with cameras/films/props etc, kinda takes the edge off
