Did you close the #3 under certification conditions, or unofficially?

I closed the #3 a couple years ago, but haven't tried #4.
bullshit, your forearms don't look big enough to close a number 2 let alone a 3.

I don't know anything about those grippers but back when I worked forearms I could grip 2 45's facing each other (smooth side out) for over 20 seconds with one hand.

Keith,
Did you ever try a plate curl? Simply grab a 25 lb plate over the edge with your thumb on the top side and your four fingers on the bottom then slowly perform a curl without any swinging upward.

Things become harder very fast when a 35 lb plate is tried.

A plate wrist curl is even harder.

I think Gunther closed a #3 and over 100 have been certified for having done that...only a couple have closed the #4...was only 1 guy ever for like 5-10 years...its all on the ironmind site

Look at Milo sometime. They put pics of people who close #4. They are ALWAYS little puny 150lb guys. Size doesn't matter w/ regard to this...
how come you didn't get a pic and send it in to Randy Strossen?

lets put it this way i know a dude who could deadlift 650 with both hands overhand and shaking hands with him was like shaking hands with a bunch of bananas that could squeeze and he couldn't get the #3 within a half inch of being closed.

Using a standard gripper and a racquetball worked for me.  High reps with both.
