The 12 Step program has enabled me to stop drinking and drugs for over 7 years, and more recently it has helped me stop a brutal Sex Addiction that had me losing my shirt in the strip joints. If you feel it doesn't work that's your privilege. I know it has worked for me.

All 12 step programs do is give alcoholics and drug addicts who are treated  as second class citizens by the rest of society somewhere to congregate where they aren't treated as second class citizens.  The majority are just like you, they swap one addiction for the other, they just find new ways to act out that makes them appear to be managing their dysfunction better.  They remain broken people, sadly the poor fuckers can't admit it and remain in constant denial.  The only way to really recover is to free yourself from the 12 step program addiction itself.
