Clairmonte won that show
yeah.
Had Flex won, he would have won his first 5 pro shows, instead of four.

Thanks for posting - I was at this one!  I remember how long we'd wanted Clairmonte to switch federations after nailing the NABBA Universe over and over again.  I remember seeing him offstage and being quite taken aback by just how drawn his face was - very skeletal.  Always seemed to show in great condition...

(Not sure which show this is from, but this is the pose that reminds me most of being 'his')

Ironically Shawn was in better condition than Flex at the Olympia even he admitted this but Flex's shape edged him out

I had Vince Taylor ahead of Dillet.

True, but Flex was in better condition at the O than he was here. Had Flex showed up in the same condition, he would not have been 2nd, Shawn would have. I'll go as far as to say that Flex would might have been out of the top 6.

Clairmonte wasted years in nabba, he would have been right in the mix in the late 80's

Clairmonte is one of the greats, phenomenal physique... ASC 1996, all the first three, Levrone, Wheeler and Dillett could have won, even Taylor and Ray looked great, most competitive and highest level ASC ever... Watching the posing routines and how they looked, i had Dillett first...

You are right.
He's probably not the best in the posing department.
But anyway...

It's weird - when you go to these things (as I'm sure everyone knows) you are sitting there almost flexing on behalf of the competitors.  When Paul posed, it was almost like he'd never done it before!  It's really strange - obviously there are vids of him shuddering and missing shots and one can only wonder why..?  It's not as if he hadn't practised or anything - was there something specific about his contest prep that made his coordination so difficult?  I dunno, but I still feel privileged to have that memory of the very first time I saw him coming on stage and us all going, "What is THAT!?!?"  :o :o :o

It's not unusual for him, though. I've never seen him not like that onstage. And it's not just his back - he shakes and shudders awkwardly through the whole routine. Uncomfortable to even watch, really.

Like seeing an impossibly gorgeous chick, and when she finally opens her mouth, she stutters and stammers with lisps and snorts and drooling spittle, spewing forth the most unattractive pottymouth ignorance a mind can fathom. You forget she's even hot.

If they both just stood there like photographs, though, they'd be perfect.

I noticed something else with Dillett. Very bizzare

Dillet would blink his eyes hard as he flexed. He also appeared to not be able to control his eyes balls either. It seemed like he was trying to focus on things that we're not actually there. His intense blinking and his distracted eye balls made his posing routines very odd.

Maybe he's got some subtle type of epilepsy, who knows. Should've pictured the audience naked, like Jan Brady.

Flex has the shape, but too smooth in that appearance.
