Not to rain on yer parade bro, but I think Wheeler at the ASC 1993 is the physique that's recognized as the best ever.

i agree, i have muscle and fitness mag that covered that show and it has black and white photos of him practicing his posing and it is the most incredible set of photos ive ever seen.

He had an amazing year in 1993 , he was slightly off from his ASC win but still amazing , I was routing for Flex in 93 , Shawn thought he edged out Flex at that contest , but I maintain if he came in with his ASC shape he would have beat Yates !!

Well I am a youngster in this sport so I am only judging by the billion pics I saw . But I have never seen pic of the 93 ASC so if ND have some, feel free to post them

I have been around this sport for 25 years..........been to many Olympia's, USA's, National's.........I have been to 100's of local shows and judged many as well. I have also competed at an elite level in powerlifting. Flex's physique at that particular time (93') was indeed the BEST EVER. The combination of muscle mass, quality, asthetics, symmetry..........has never been matched. If so..........show me.

The funny thing is that I have the video from the ASC 93 and Wheeler is at his best ever!! the true winner that day but................

Due to his long abdominal area (from waist to chest distance) standing relax and waiting to hear the runner up........ Labrada looked better and more symetrycal than Wheeler.

I said standing relax........ok?

If you really admire Flex, buy his book.

He's about more than muscles, he almost lost his life from dieuretic use, which is a dumb price to pay just to win a trophy.

i dont see why people love his 93 condition so much. i thought he looked his best in 2000, that was his best condition. i have never seen him so ripped, if you look in the battle for the olympia 2000, his veins were piercing his skin all over, he wasnt that ripped in 98 or 93.

flex's best condition was the 93ASC and he wasn't able to reproduce it due to the kidney disease

Flex at the 93 AC was amazing, but had flaws.

Personally, I think there are THREE "best ever physiques" that are pretty much right up there in terms of overall greatness (but each has their flaws)/

They are (in no particular order):

Shawn Ray (1994 Olympia - perfection except for lats

Ronnie Coleman (2001 AC or 99 British Grand Prix - also amazing, except for calves and abs)

Flex Wheeler (1993 AC- pefection as well, except for lats (and calves).

I don't think bodybuilding has a definitive "best ever physique".

There are several contenders (like the three I posted above) but to pick one is totally subjective.

Its interesting to note that although all 3 had (glaring) flaws, the rest of their physiques were SO DOMINANT that their flaws were almost an afterthought.
