Flex Wheeler 93 Olympia

To say they had "glaring flaws" implies that their flaws stood out obtrusively. Far from it IMHO.

Thier flaws may have "appeared" to be glaring because their other body parts were so damn monumental and, hence, made their flaws look conspicuous. Not [remotely] so.

Flex at the 93 AC was amazing, but had flaws.

Personally, I think there are THREE "best ever physiques" that are pretty much right up there in terms of overall greatness (but each has their flaws)/

They are (in no particular order):

Shawn Ray (1994 Olympia - perfection except for lats

Ronnie Coleman (2001 AC or 99 British Grand Prix - also amazing, except for calves and abs)

Flex Wheeler (1993 AC- pefection as well, except for lats (and calves).

I don't think bodybuilding has a definitive "best ever physique".

There are several contenders (like the three I posted above) but to pick one is totally subjective.

Its interesting to note that although all 3 had (glaring) flaws, the rest of their physiques were SO DOMINANT that their flaws were almost an afterthought.

if you actually took off your cloudy, foggy, scratched and opaque ironage glasses, you would see that the discussion was also about Flex being the "best ever".  I simply commented and showed that I don't think bodybuilding HAS a SINGLE best ever physique.  It has several "best evers".

So, no, I did not hijack the thread.  And, just because you have seen the Ronnie pic a million times does not mean that the new people on the board have.

He had an amazing year in 1993 , he was slightly off from his ASC win but still amazing , I was routing for Flex in 93 , Shawn thought he edged out Flex at that contest , but I maintain if he came in with his ASC shape he would have beat Yates !!

Co-Sign!!!  I recall that he did a total of 7/8 shows that year, and only lost two out of the total.  And the losses were 2nd place.

If you really admire Flex, buy his book.

He's about more than muscles, he almost lost his life from dieuretic use, which is a dumb price to pay just to win a trophy.

So is every other competitor in the sport.  Regardless of his personal demons, and supplement & substance abuse---give credit where credit is due.

Doesent matter on that night in 83 he displayed one of the best ever physiques. Flex and Ray never even won the O... You're argument is gay... No one ever even mentions Haney in a best ever argument and he won 8 Sandows.

This thread is about Flex at the 93 olympia. So don't bring Ronnie or anyone else into it. There are threads more proper for that to be done in. And for my opinion, 99 gran prix Coleman was his best ever, he was bigger and better conditioned than at the 01 ASC
