Cruz spoke at great length of their friendship - I'm sure he attended the funeral.

obama barely knew the SCOTUS, and they were opposites politically.   His attending would have been a meaningless formality, insincere at best.   

Cruz worked for him, right?  Knew him for decades?  I bet nothing could have stopped Cruz from attending.
