The guys on here making negative remarks about Bob Sapp are fucking idiots, plain and simple. Bob's is 6'4". In fighting condition he weighs roughly 350. He has been CLOSE to 400....but again, NOT in fighting shape. He is extremly well spoken and very intellegent, that is why he pays more in taxes per year than 99% of the idiots on here make a year! He is an ENTERTAINER!
Check the current world bench records......the 165 class and up (181,198,220,242,275,308,supers) ALL bench over 600...actually 665 is the record at 165. 242 and up is over 800. 4 guys have bench pressed over 900 and 2 have gone over 1000 in OFFICIAL competition. SO.............a 375 pound monster such as Sapp can push 595 quite easily. Get informed before you spout off.

Bullshit. Nobody in the 165, 181, 198, or 220 classes has ever benched 600 without equipment. We're talking about raw lifts, since it's unlikely someone like Sapp would be using a bench shirt.

no he doesn't, the only ones he weighs twice as much as is the 165'ers, maybe, and i would even doubt that, i would put his weight at around 315-320.

He weighed 300 in college while at the University of Washington. He dwarfs his former self. I played football at UW with him.
Yes......the current bench record holders wear bench shirts, which I do not like. I have competed in the USAPL/ADFPA, wearing a single ply shirt, which does help a certain percentage, but not like the 2 and 3 ply shirts many of the open record holders wear. Regardless......why is it so hard for some of you guys to believe that he weighs over 315 or can semi-close grip bench press 595? Have you EVER been around genetic freaks and/or elite athletes? While nearly everything seems to be exaggerated these days.....Sap is a true genetic freak. Some of you genetic pukes out there just don't get it.

Jeff Magruder has bench pressed 600@242 raw
Mike MacDonald went over 600 several times @ 220 and 242 raw and was close @198. This was 20 years ago.

He's actually 6'5, usually weighs around 165 - 170 kgs when he's not fighting. One big mofo, dwarfs most anyone who stands next to him.

He often trained at the same jiu jitsu club and gym as me in Tokyo and usually went easy, real easy. Couple 3 minute rounds practicing take downs and he was fucked. In the gym he never went heavy and often talked about how he used to lift this and push that.

Hard to doubt him though coz he's a fuckin tank and anything he says, people just nod their heads.

I never see him anymore since he's a big celeb now and training with Sam Greco..

When you are that large and strong, it doesn't matter if you tire out in 3 min. Who in their right mind would challenge him to a fight in RL?

Remember, he only has to land one bomb to make you sleep. Like Tyson in his prime.

That's not a risk many people are willing to take outside of a kickboxing ring.

Just look at the photo of the two........Ronnie and Bob. Even if Ronnie is in contest shape in the photo, he would be atleast 275-280. Sapp DWARFS him. I like Bob.....he is freakin' hilarious as well as monstrous. I just hope he doesn't eventually pay the ultimate price for being that big.

My original post is still accurate. MacDonald was the only man under 250 lb to bench 600 in a sanctioned contest. A very, VERY small number may have done 600 in training.

The ultimate price.........from AAS use/abuse?

From what I've seen, the ultimate price is looking old and used up.......see Dorian for an example. He looks to be about 10-15 years older than he is.

Most bodybuilders have died from diuretic abuse which has nothing to do with AAS. Only an ignorant bodybuilder would risk death via Lasix when there are safer potassium sparing diuretics on the market.
