So going forward, I am going to practice researching and weighing the information more carefully before coming to a conclusion" then it might have all be worth it. So "the story gained no legs" just turned into "the story just accused the largest govt bodies of involvement and the lawyer promised to name people soon..."   I'd say that's gaining a little bit of legs.   The lawyer is trying to get permission so he doesn't get disbarred, he's trying to fck over Cruz for whatever reason... BUT if Cruz' name is in there, it's much better for repubs for it to come out NOW, and not in October when it'll give the election to a Dem.
