I'd like to see a program to get our kids into medicine, without them having to be from rich homes (or India).  Get as many of them into it as can be done, while still maintaining a certain standard.  And start early.

Yes, it means that the value of work has been unfairly poisoned by what a country such as Mexico is up to (to say nothing of the other problem countries), and it is ridiculous for an American to have to take that.

Fact is, if we could create proper trade agreements, we could set-up Mexico so their people wouldn't want to uproot, and we could finally get back to having American values.  America values work, and the American doing the work.

Canada has an enormous advantage in that they are not bordered by hundreds of millions of desperate people in Mexico, Central and South America. 

They have kept their shit together much better than us, too, not to mention their collective sanity.

I think few countries are so relaxed with it as America.  But I can't imagine many Canadians would have much desire to come here, since they probably like their country and feel it is holding course well enough.  It is a much less insane place to be than America right now, I'm sure.
