The long-haired, blue-eyed, Caucasian Jesus was merely a euro/italian invention....an incorrect artistic rendering.
This is one of my favourite pictures of Jesus. Portrays somewhat of his humanness, staring at the rock during his fasting in the desert whilst being tempted by Satan to turn the stones into bread.
Whats also interesting is that Jesus looks Eastern European, most probably as it was made by a Russian, I guess people just drew what they knew back in the day, maybe soon the normal / most accepted portrayal of Jesus will be someone more ethnic looking.
