So, I had been largely ignoring one particular user's posts, but made the mistake of replying to him earlier this evening. I won't name the poster, but over the course of the last few hours, these have popped up in different threads. Is this an example of owning someone's mind?

In a thread about racist jokes, two posts directed at me even though I hadn't even posted in the thread:
Well its not really your fault that the Great Moralist Al Doggity has taken me to task for not defending black people against racism, either real or implied.

Oh wait!  Dammit!   Was I supposed to refrain from addressing you?  Don't you have some sort of a refraining order on me?  Too late.

In a thread I started about the tv show "The Big Bang Theory", the first reply:

Dammit!  Now Al "Hot" Doggity  is gonna pull the racist card on me (after I made earlier progress in this thread)

A "pullquote" from a from an 8-paragraph long response to a question I asked another poster that kicked this off:

And yes, I know the above pull quote wasn't directed at me but you invoked my name.

Here's a tip from an internet geriatric to you, whom I believe to be rather aged in the real life, yes?

When posting a thread like this (on a hostile internet forum) always consider that everybody reading it will first examine the inverse version of your point.

IE, that it is infact the scott who has owned your mind.

If the inversion looks likely (in this case, extremely likely - in that you're posting a thread about him making four very mild and ignore worthy posts), abort the mission and remain blemish free.

Now you know how to survive better at the internet.

Rocket was very articulate and well spoken but I won't be.

He owns your mind. You started a thread about him.

If someone writes an 8 paragraph post addressing you in a highly emotional tone, you've should start renting out the space in their head.

exactly that, the fact the op has started a thread and the scott hasntclearly demonstrates its the OP whos mind is owned.

I believe this is a classic ownage reversal on OP.

Is it? You do realize I'm the one who created those poll options, right? I was expecting some negative feedback towards me, which is why I listed four opportunities to rake me over the coals.

The simple fact of the matter is this, though:
If someone writes an 8 paragraph post addressing you in a highly emotional tone, you've should start renting out the space in their head.

I'm pretty sure a lot the responses might be a reflection of personal dislike towards me, which, obviously, I sort of love.  ;)

Wait... how does this even make sense?   ??? Starting a thread is exactly as much effort posting in a thread. And the last  thread that was posted in as of me typing this is a 14-pager  about too small posing trunks.

Have reached Stage 2 now: OP seeking validation now to ease his doubt, not receiving it and getting quite reactionary/aggressive.

The only difference is that you press a button that says "start thread".  And to respond to a thread, you actually have to click on that thread and THEN click reply. So, technically that's more effort.

I added all that other shit to the poll because I was expecting most of you losers to say exactly what you said, but now that I think about it, it's really the opposite. It's less work starting a thread!

No, I just love attention. Did not want this thread to die. Surprised there have only been 14 votes.  :-\

Not much of a point not naming the poster then incling the posters name attached to said posters quotes. Kinda defeats the point. Hope this helps. Your socialist comrade Mr.turbo.

I was being facetious. Even if I genuinely did not want to name him, it would have been pretty easy for anyone who cared to figure it out.
