The Democratic Party really needs to take a long look at the route they are trying to go down with putting almost ALL their eggs in the identity politics basket versus at least focusing on policy as well.

Sure the Presidential elections will be competitive but that just sets them up to get slaughtered practically every mid-term election thereafter.

They really haven't had a strong mid-term showing since 2006 when we were engulfed in a controversial war and they got rocked in 2010 and 2014 and will get hammered again if Hillary gets elected.

We will keep hearing about trump being the victim of moderator badgering.

BUT

WHen your proposed strategy is a radical shift from standard to possibly illegal - such as increased torture, killing family of bad guys, and 'taking the oil', then YES, some aggressive follow-up is required.

If Hilary answered every Q with "oh, i'd just drop a nuke on them", you can bet the moderators would stop and say "please explain that!" over and over.  I don't think some people realize what an insane answer "just take the oil" and "just kill their families" and "just torture them more" really is.

His new speak of "Police know who these terr'ists are, they're just scared to say anything because they don't want to be seen as racists".  Um, that's TOTAL bullshit.   Police in the USA are fairly badass, and if they think someone's a terr'ist, they call it in, they pull them over, and they light them up, as we saw yesterday.   This whole trump thing of "we're going to get tough..."   Um, police in the USA are among the toughest on the planet... compare them to soft ass euro cops lol.   I don't think "getting tough" is a problem - it's motivating the public to snitch out the bad guys.
