Okay let me get this straight , 15 wins out of 17 contests , thats an 88% win rate , he never placed below 2nd in a Pro contest , he raise the bar in 93 and set new standards , dominated among the highest quality feilds of competitors ever , beat the greatest Mr Olympia in the muscularity round in his FIRST Mr Olympia contest , and he is the most overrated Mr Olympia ever? yup I like your logic lol Hulkster for you to say you don't like his physique is fine , for you to say he should have lost in 94 is again fine , to say he was the most overrated of all time just projects how misinformed and clueless you really are , on occasion you have made a few valid points but this isn't one of them , go back to the drawing board and keep working.

Dorian was overrated post tear. He was not as bad pre-tear because he still had both arms and good abs.  But his quads always sucked.

Okay, if Dorian post 1994 is not the most overrated Mr. O. ever, then who is?

Certainly not Haney, not Ronnie, not Samir.  Maybe Dickerson. I nominate Yates :)

but at least I have very good reasons for nominating Yates. I am not some blind Yates follower who sees striations where they don't exist or a classical taper on someone who looks like sack of potatos...

Good for you, Coleman looks like a sack of shit too. Watching him do ab and thighs next to flex wheeler (who Dorian held his own with in this pose) just makes me laugh.

Coleman nor Yates were ever aesthetic, even when coleman had his wasp waist. I think Coleman was amazing pre-gut and I still content his all-time best was in 96-97 becuase he had the tiny waist, the rediculous arms, the great back, and his conditioning was superior back then to his mr. olympia days.

But no amount of arguing on this forum will change the fact that Yates won six Sandows against the most stacked lineups in history. Did politics play a role, sure? But ins't that the allure behind the Mr. Olympia contest? If there weren't dynasties, what would separate the Mr. Olympia contest from any other show?

Do you guys think Robert E. Lee or Ulysses S. Grant was a better general?

I mean, Grant had resources that Lee didn't... do you think he deserved the wins in 1863 and 64, or was the fix in?

Lee was Lincoln's first choice so on paper he was the ' better ' choice but Grant as many historians say was the best General of his age , so I'm with Grant on this one !!

It's really aesthetics vs. mass---

Lee had more size, but an insulin belly to boot.

actually grant had more size (closer to six feet and probably weighed more), and lee's insulin belly was not caused by insulin but by a well-documented drinking problem.  he was sorta like the Chris Cormier of his day, but only about a million times more successful.

Lee, like Lee P, holding it down for the small men.

EDIT: actually Grant holding it down for the small men.

But did Grant ever lose his Palm Pilot, causing the world to believe he was dead for an entire week?

Robert E Lee was 5'11" and Grant was 5'8" , so Lee had the height advantage but Grant had better balance & proportion , and Honest-Abe smoked them both at 6'4" and in his youth a massive and cut 185lbs and was known as quite the wrestler !!

I completely flipped them in my last post . . .but it was Grant who did have the drinking problem, and he did have his legendary benders.

Grant had to compete in the Masters' Division, as he couldn't cut it against his peers. Thanks to his leadership position, he was able to not only win, but also make wagers on his placing with spectators!

this debate is not working for me, as they did ultimately meet, and Grant pwned Lee--although it came at a tremendous cost to his health.

Word is, Grant had to retire after the 1865 Olympia and ended up needing a kidney transplant.

That'll teach him to work with Chad Nichols!

but he eventually recovered and became president of the IFBB for a record three terms--and his ability to take fiscal advantage of his position far outshone Ben Weider's.

At seven feet tall and probably 300 lbs., I think Peter the Great would have pwned both Lee and Grant at any point in time.  Now we have a truly hypothetical scenario.

Once again lets not punish Ronnie because he has inferior competition.

I love how all the Yates fans say he could have kept competing and improving  ::) All he would have done was torn every muscle in his body until he was a 280 pound lump of rhinoceras dung in 28 cubic feet of plastic wrap.

Ron got 9th at the 97 olympia. He may have gotten 5th in 98 if the shadow was competing. Yates would have ruled until whenever he called it quits. Same deal with ronnie now

Yates knew Ronnie was going to make improvements. Next year Yates would have showed up on stage with every muscle in his body torn.
