Bob doesn't know how to do cardio - that's for sure. He lumbers on the treadmill like a fat chick (no pun) with his hands on the front of the machine....no wonder why he's not on target with his contest prep....

For God's sake man, put some effort into it!

Looking 6-8 weeks out for a show that's 4 weeks away is considered not on target. Hope this helps.

You should be at least 90% "there" 2-3 weeks before you step on stage!

Let me ask you guys something

King does squats with 6 plates on the smith for 10 reps resting at the top wrapped up yelling through each one...Gets done his set and procedes to walk around like a bad ass and pats himself on the back for what he just did...That is all great

take another guy that does the same but after his set, tells jokes, laughs and what not...

my question is who is more intense...by watching most would say king but why?  He could be thinking of S.Ray through the whole set...about what he is going to do to him ect...

the other guy could be thinking about the contraction he is doing and just the feel itself...

Which one is really more intense????

Good point

The muscle doesn't grow from the mind..

It grows from all of the hard work, the mind just wills the muscle to work harder.

Hope that makes sense.

Any way, I think your going to grow more from training chest 30 times as opposed to doing it 25 times but with grunts and bad ass looks in between sets.

I hope they follow him in his hotel room and behind stage at the contest.

We'll watch the fit show stuff, not really go out of our way to learn how everyone did, I think fit show should cover it all, show what its all about.

actually your right if bob was training for cardio and not to burn fat...To burn fat, its takes time---not really effort...Training for cardio takes effort...But to burn fat, esp. at the age of over 35, one can walk almost like a baby and get it done...

Anyone in the media like Bob should've anticipated how that lameass training would look to others-it's hard to respect someone going through the motions. Is "maintain" enough? The term pathetic comes to mind-if you love it some degree of intensity would be second-nature. Especially in front of the camera, be saavy enough to at least fake it, it's on tape for posterity.

I'm not talking about screaming for the sake of screaming, but he looks like a pussy on the treadmill and when lifting. The Richard Simmons workout.

He is mostly concerned about not getting injured and just maintaining while getting cut. Sure he might have more thickness and be better overall if he trained harder but he might also get injured. Training harder is not worth it to him. To each his own. I know I would not be able to half-ass it like that.

What worked for him previously is not what he's doing now, you idiot.

I'm a few years older than him and would never consider training like a pussy, especially with a camera on me! Then there's just the issue of pride. He acts over the hill even though he's physically not.

I am watching war of the world and it occurred to me that these guys are just punching the clock.  They are taking minutes in between sets, joking around and playing games. Clearly pushing the work out is not the priority.  He then makes the comment of listening to your body, is that euphemism for taking it easy?

Where is the training intensity? Where is the extra effort? There is a thread floating around about training intensity, clearly “supplements” such as vitamin c and a multi is playing the bigger role.

On a different note, thanks for the tip about training Bis.  Mine are looking "fuller" because your tip talked about training the outer bi by doing close grips. I like most people over focus on wide grip thus training over training the inner bi.

I am sure Bob didn't get where he is today based what he shows on the Fit Show training segments. You have to understand these are segments primarily aimed towards showing a GLIMPSE of the BBer lifestyle. When you've got a camera in your face (and I will guarantee the footage is heavily edited for appeal) you play it up every once in a while.

You think anyone that trained with Tom Prince knows what intensity means. Bob says it himself, training with Prince is no joke.

That is what he was doing before. He is not a gung-ho, bleed from the eyes kind of trainer. You are a few years older than Bob? Then act like it.

Were you with him previously? His training confirms the stereotype of bodybuilders as non-athletic pumpers that this moron can look up to.

Fortunately not all follow the Chick routines.

Were you with him previously? If that's true it confirms all the worst things about bodybuilders as non-athletes, pump artists that this moron can look up to.

I read about his training in Flex magazine, which is almost like being in the room with him.
