You realize that all new housing requires solar right? You also realize that these new houses are still required to be on the grid because the solar cannot provide 100% of the power typically required. So 43.9% of bullshit stat is what that is.
The population of the 4 countries you chose is around 18.4 million, Southern California alone has around 24 million. LOL horrible comparisons.
You realize I was not arguing with you. You should know better than I do whether the 43.9% stat is or isn't bull since California is your state. This was simply a response your post (below), intended to provide a little additional information about solar.
Can't even power up a single state and somehow the whole world is going to operate on solar/wind power. LOL the delusions.
The information I posted about other countries was not intended to be a comparison between them and California. Apparently, you assumed that it was. It was simply additional information regarding the use of solar.
I never pretended to be an expert on solar or any other renewable energy. I do not live in California. Why would I realize (know)all new housing requires solar or that it is required to also be on the grid?
It is my understanding that even folks who have a reliable 100% off-grid solar system also need a backup energy source.
It seems to me that you are so used to contentious conversations on Getbig that you do not recognize when someone (me) is not disagreeing with you.
FYI, my home does not have solar panels, although more and more folks in my neighborhood have added them on their roofs. Our expensive energy is provided by Portland General Electric and Northwest Natural Gas.
My only delusion is believing it is possible to have an amiable discussion on Getbig. Apparently, it is not.
