Late night shows are supposed to be comedy. But comedy should make fun of everyone, not ignore one side and completely shill for the other. Alienate more than half a population and your numbers will dwindle.

Maybe comedy in general does make fun of everyone, not just one side. Comedians on-the-other-hand usually have only one or two easy targets. Moreover, their target audience is what drives them and also makes them unique. Unfortunately for Trump, he is an extremely easy target. He provides a never-ending stream of material for timely jokes.
