I love that Trump just flat out made Arnold the beta here. Must be quite the blow to Arnold's ego. Just a few months ago Arnold (thinking that he had political pull) came out and publicly insulted Trump by stating he would not vote for him. Trump waited for the right moment to exact his rebutle and in doing so made Arnold look laughable.

It's a bit different with Trump going from that to the POTUS.  Arnie went from a Major movie star to slumming it doing a reality TV show that should have been canceled years ago.  He doesn't need the money.   What the hell was he thinking?

I think all celebs, whether from sports, entertainment, music, business etc hurt their brands the moment they get political. Thing is they tend to only look at the fans they bring in because of their politics, yet they lose so many more, and potential ones they could have brought in because of their choice.
And that goes for the ones left middle or right.

People want to be entertained, they dont want world opinions from people who live in bubbles protected from the reality of everyday life

I remember watching arnold announce his running for governor on Leno.  Was very disappointed.
Arnold was greatest bodybuilder ever for me and most entertaining movie star, it was the end of an era. Unfortunately arnold couldnt achieve all he wanted as governor and it hurt his popularity. We all think that was a bad move for him but regardless he's achieved amazing things, everything he wanted so  we know he wouldn't change being governor. He's made a bad choice having trumps sloppy seconds so hopefully it doesn't get another season and he makes some decent movie choices before he kicks the bucket.
