Just google sexual offenders and you can see the sentences of people who abuse children under 12 years of age. There are tons who get nowhere even close to 30 years.

I know some guy who got charged with 250 counts of child porn on his computer with children under 4 and received 6 months--someone I went to school with. Although he never actually touched a child, his sentence was still ludicrous, especially compared to someone who receives 30 years for having sex with a 17 year old.

The average sentence given to the 4,300 child molesters was approximately seven years, with three of seven years typically being served.

Of course, its only 4300, but still a good sample size. 3 years is a far cry from 30.
