If that's him in the photo... that's sad, I understand he's injured so his training is limited, but why not at least compensate on all other spectrums, try to do some light cardio, and definitely focus on diet for sure for being in his situation should be on a keto diet, at least once he recovers from his injury he has a starting point in a lean condition.
