maybe. strikes me as the kind of guy who would beat arnold a few times, lose once, get screwed over a few years later in the best shape of his life and leave bodybuilding for a while. probably do well as an older guy, too.

Exactly. I don't think Sergio was well proportioned or "aesthetic" at all. His arms were what made him so impressive, but he was very unbalanced. When I think of the perfect physique, Arnold springs to mind. I think you should be between 5'11'' and 6'1'' to be considered aesthetic.

Arnold perfect physique? What about sloped his narrow shoulders, wide waist, tiny legs?? Aronld was Mr O because he had decent aesthetics with great mass, and friendship with the right persons. However he was far from having perfect proportions.

Oliva was the undisputed king of muscle bellies - look at the calves, forerms, and biceps. I've never seen a bicep seem to actually go PAST the elbow joint when the arm is extended.

Tiny waist, massive, aesthetic.  That man was truly born to be a bodybuilder.

Like I said, he was impressive because of his huge arms(Arnold had better biceps though) but he was to unbalance to be considered "aesthetic" whatever that means.

you must be blind, arnold was great but no one ever touches sergio on balance. he is the very definition of a perfectly balanced, proportional, flowing physique.

besides his arms, he had thick, well developed muscle everywhere else, all low insertions everywhere, no weak parts, tiny waist with no gut and wide shoulders....good calves, good thigh sweep, the perfect bodybuilder.

We must not share the same idea of what an aesthetic physique is. To me you must be balanced. He didn't "flow" at all. He looked like a short bodybuilder with huge arms, relatively poor definition, and no other standout parts. Arnold was the whole package.

No way - Oliva couldn't even contract his biceps all the way becuase his bis and forearm bellies were too long.  But Levrone does have a great genetics none the less.

would you get of Oliva's nutsack already....having long muscle bellies in the arm is not a good thing anyways, it's better to have shorter muscle bellies with a hellacious peak ala Ronnie. Sergio had no peak whatsoever and it made his arms look like shit

your an idiot, almost every part on oliva was a stoundout part, especially for the time....how was arnold the whole package? he was unbeatable in certain well-designed shots, but just standing there he had a wide waist, small forearms, and zero leg sweep compared to oliva.
im not saying arnold wasnt incredible, and he certainly beat sergio in some areas, but as far as balance and completeness no one holds a candle to oliva.

Why dont you get off of Levrone's nutsackas well?  - I simply stated that Sergio was born to be a legendary bodybuilder because of his long muscle bellies, tiny waist, etc.  I agree with you that Levrone has incredible genetics. The original thread was about ideal proportions for a bodybuilder - I would take a modern day Oliva with up-to-date training, drugs, and nutrition any day over Levrone, or Coleman, or anyone else.
