brilliant deduction sherlock. Except most of the shit that would concern the western world are being done by eu\us nationals living here legally.
The mentality is the same. Theyre gonna hear about how shitty life is for their familys back "home" & theyre gonna get to see the world through 2ndifferent views and likely see how the "westerners" are oblivious to how things are over there and become further disillusioned and more easily radicalized.
One of my best friends in h.s. is now and has been since about 2009, one of the leaders of al-shababb in somalia. This is a light-skin dude with blue eyes and curly hair. If you looked at them you would have absolutely no idea he was Muslim or even Middle Eastern. This dude had a typical upbringing, middle class, in San Diego. Nice clothes. Cars. And listened to rap music like the rest of us.(in fact, the last time i saw him, in about late 2000/early 2001, he had his hair braided in corn-rows and had 2 girls in his car going to a club). But "moose" (we called him... His real name was Jehad Mostafa, google him. This was long b4 any of us knew what the fuck "jihad" meant) would show up to school on monday or tuesdays with pictures of the previous weekends family get-together. Pics of him and family drrssed in traditional white robes and red head scarves holding ak-47s. Lol.. None of us thought anything of it aside from me saying "damn moose, where the fuck you get those guns? Hook it up brother".. He'd just reply "you know.. Thats just how we roll" & joke about it.
Come 9/11 we find out some of the Pilot's head trained at Montgomery field which is maybe half of a mile from our high school and about a quarter mile from where I lived. Also found out that the hijackers had also stayed at a nearby mosque by the high school and I had thought to myself huh I wonder if moose new any of those dudes. Well come find out moose did know those guys from the mosque and a couple years or so after I had lost seen him he had opened a auto shop or garage in east side San Diego and a short time later he was in Somalia or Minnesota or some shit on his way to Somalia as a leader in al-shabaab terrorist organization that is number two to Ikeda in Africa. Lol.... This was a middle-class kid like I said and they may live well and do okay here or in England or whatever but don't forget that they still have family and friends in countries that are getting bombed where people are dying and living a shity life and in their eyes Americans are probably oblivious a materialistic ("fake") and they probably just can't relate.
