President Trump briefly left the hospital Sunday afternoon for a short drive to wave at supporters on the street shortly after teasing that surprise in a new video posted online. The clear goal is to show he is not seriously ill. The timing, shortly before Dow Jones futures opened, probably was not a coincidence for Trump either.

Other than nuclear war I can't think of more bearish news than we've seen in 2020. I guess the market is now a national security issue and will never go down, haha.

Dow, S&P 500 hit record highs after Moderna says vaccine is 94.5% effective

US stocks rallied on Monday after Moderna said its experimental COVID-19 vaccine is highly effective.

The Dow and the S&P 500 both notched new record highs.

The Dow finished up 1.6%, or 471 points. The index closed only about 50 points below the 30,000 mark, a level it has not crossed in its history.

The S&P 500 closed up 1.2%, and the Nasdaq ended 0.8% higher.

I think that publicly traded businesses believe that this pandemic is temporary and have continued on somewhat normally. The damage to small businesses is profound and continues, but small business owners don't want to work for others; they'll come back in some form. It should never have come to this, but here we are.
