Won the North Americans. From Canada. Trained crazy volume and crazy high reps. Didnt last long as a pro. Anyway....I always hated this signature shot of his. Plus his face bothered me. Caption this shot for me please.

I always wondered if that was the same Nimrod referenced in the book Muscle: Confessions of an Unlikely Bodybuilding by Samuel Fussell?

First pro-level guy I ever saw in person. I lifted in the same gyms as Nimrod when he was a top national competitor and then newly-minted IFBBer. Huge, ballooned muscle bellies with small joints. Frail, even. Plus, he wasn’t tall. Maybe five-eight-ish.

Head the size of an apple.

Had the dreaded turnip-thighs thing going.

Friendly but dumb as a watermelon.

King’s knowledge of weight training was clearly limited, but he did perform tonnes of sets and reps, in a pump style.

I remember reading an article about him in Flex, he said he didnt like wearing yellow becuase it made him look to dark skinned, every photo of him in clothes in the article he had a yellow shirt on?

His leg vascularity was into the realm of gross.

He was simply an incredible responder to the gear. Certainly his training, beyond plentiful, was nothing to write home about.

In this way, he’s much like Dillett. Paul, too, was an underwhelming weight trainer.

Didn’t Nimrod burn competitors of their prize money when he promoted a pro show and then bailed out of Canada?

He jacked Marcus Ruhl out of a Motorcycle he won. When Marcus wanted money instead of the Bike, Nimrod said no then sent him the Wrong Motorcyle and never corrected the mistake, if you want to call it that.

On another occasion, Darrem Charles won the Toronto Pro Nimrod promoted and never paid him the Full $10,000 he won and deserved.

guy had crazy proportions. looked huge. IDK why he disappeared. he was a promising pro. him and renel janvier turned pro around the same time. did well in their first few shows then disappeared.

Yes...what On_Swole posted from Shawn Ray covered it...Aaron Singerman said that it was that incident that caused the IFBB to set up a rule requiring all prize money to be put in escrow after that incident...that said, I swear it was the 2002 Toronto Pro that Art Atwood won [and Markus Ruhl came second in] that resulted in this policy, as Atwood was jacked his $10,000...not Darrem Charles, who won the Toronto Pro in both 2004 and 2005.

If Shawn is correct that it was Darrem who was ripped off of his prize money, I would guess that would have been at the 2005 Toronto Pro. Perhaps that is why the show went on hiatus until 2011. That said, I could swear I heard about the incident prior to 2005. I could be wrong though.

Yes had a awesome FDB but had that “thick” skin and never really came in shredded especially from the back, his Arms, chest and quads were huge.

We have had a few of those. Bertil Fox and Craig Titus pops up too.

Nimrod had to thick skin especially from the back. Paul Dillet also had this problem.
