Biological sex cannot be changed, it's in your genes.
If you're not into the whole liberal/feminist constructivist thought, no, biological sex and gender are not alienable from each other. Though expression of gender/sex may follow cultural norms.  

if you are into the whole constructivist thought: gender is fluid (and therefore infinite) with no set boundaries to any particular classification (as of yet) hence why the list is ever growing.

There are two genders. Sex preferencies is a much more complex issue.

Sex and gender were generally considered to be synonymous. Now, gender is viewed as how you identity yourself (in terms of masculinity and femininity) while sex is biological. So while there are only two sexes (discounting hermaphrodites), there can be an unlimited amount of genders. Somebody who is "Cis" is someone who's gender matches with their biological sex.

That's basically a summary of all this nonsense. Personally, I think anyone who isn't "Cis/normal" is a fucking weirdo with most being just attention seekers.

I have no problem letting people call themselves whatever they want.  You can be gay and I have no problem, you can identify as a non-binary unicorn for all I care.  No problem.

What I object to is that most of the time that isn't good enough for these folks.  They demand that you call them by their made-up gender pronouns.  If you don't, they claim you are assaulting them.

They equate getting their feelings hurt with violence.  That's why we gotta tell these people to fuck off.  Because no matter what concessions we make, it will never be enough.  If you give an inch they'll demand a mile.

Call yourself what you want, just leave me out of it.
