Bob Paris looked the best.

But it's history now and you can't change history unless you're Wiggs and then you make one up to suit your fucking ego.  ;D

Yes about 6'7.  He still hangs out with Arnold all the time.

From top-to-bottom DeMey is beating Haney in this pose. I don't care how good Haney's back is.

DeMey was sheer physical perfection.  He had everything, nothing was missing.  This might have been his best showing ever.  It was tragic that his pec tear the following year cut his competitive career short.

Who's the idiot calling out the poses.

I don't know his name, but I too was disgusted with his behaviour.

wow these guy's looked incredible. this is what bodybuilding should look like today. Strydom was unbelievable from the front. Demey was great from top to bottom maybe the most complete bodybuilder on stage. Haney the clear winner though.

I wouldn’t say his career got cut short. He did compete in 1990. But he got disqualified at the 1990 Mr. Olympia then he went to the WBF. He returned to the IFBB in 1993. He retired after that.

I know the money temptation was strong from McMahon, but he should've stayed in the IFBB.

He had a real shot at the Sandow.

Even without DeMey...

1988 Rich Gaspari
1989 Lee Labrada
1990 Lee Labrada

Haney got three gifts.

Five Olympia titles, but no eight.

Dorian and Ronnie got some gift titles as well.

The pec tear got to his head. Maybe more than it should have, because it wasn't career-ending

Here he is in '93

At least three gifts.  And I am in total agreement with you as regards Labrada.  He had an excellent physique and should have been Mr. Olympia at least once or twice.

Most competitors looked great at the 1993 NOC but this was one of Clairmonte's best showings. Cottrell got a huge gift there;  in my opnion Munzer should've won.

I remember Bob Wolff writing that some people like the look of Munzer's physique and some don't.

I know what he's saying.

It's a great physique and he is probably the most ripped pro ever, but there is something that doesn't completely grab me.

He's not blocky. He's not missing bodyparts. But it doesn't completely get me.

The only thing I can think of that describes my thoughts is the word flow. It doesn't quite flow as well as one would think even with that level of quality muscle and detail.

No doubt that his training and dieting discipline was second to none.

Drugs aside, one has to be doing some serious work to look like that.

I wonder if he ever regretted jumping to the WBF. ???

Politically, it all but destroyed his chances of ever being Mr. Olympia

But it was good money... and one has to pay the bills.

Phil Hill was a thick mofo. flamed out pretty quickly though. didn't he and Mike Quinn get into a fight back stage at this show?
