Really? Because about 5 years ago someone I know started a crypto mining facility here. When I went there, he had over a hundred computers running to do the mining. He said that he bought the cheapest computers he found. Nothing special in terms of memory or hard drive. Just over 4 gig of memory though.
He said the biggest cost was elevating all the racks off the floors and running cooling coils under them to keep the temp down from all that heat build up. Must have worked because it was frosty in there.
