you can call me a keyboard warrior all you want. maybe it sounds that way. and if it does that isnt my intention. i also train MMA. and i have for a little while. and i cant wait to get into a ring and give it a go. if i get beat up on, so be it. you can only learn so much with predetermined strikes and blocks and set up groundwork. you have to test what you can do in a situation for real. you need that extra bit of competition to better yourself and to really learn where you need to improve. im not worried about a paycheck. im not worried about getting hurt. i mean, christ, this is a violent sport. to not want to fight because you may get hurt really bad is completely counterproductive to training in this sport.
if you train as a boxer, but refuse to get into the ring, are you really a boxer? if you take a drivers course in high school, does that make you a forumla one race car driver? screw the money. nobody has ever been paralyzed in this sport. nobody has died. the worst you get is a few bumps and bruises and some cuts and blood. so the F what? you heal up and get past it. refusing to get bumped up is just admitting your fear. thats why i spoke up. to be a sponsored athlete for an MMA type company but be too scared to get into the ring is just wrong.
