Nike know that black culture sells. as has been pointed out already, the majority of high profile nike sponsored athletes are black.

Not only that but Nike's primary target audience is no doubt the under 25s, whose favourite music is rap.
jayzee, 50cent, drake, rhianna, eminem, stormzy...all black and all wear Nike sportswear.

So of course Nike wants to position itself on the right side of the civil rights debate

But wtf do Nike know about promoting their brand? Fkin idiots for not checking first with the crusty old white racists of get big, before making such a monumental marketing blunder.

I go after enemies I can hit, not invisible ones that happen naturally in any society and can't be completely avoided, least of all in a country where the right to buy firearms is part of the country's culture and historical heritage.

But if you're asking if I care about people that die in terrorist attacks, the answer's no, I honestly really don't. But they hit my country, destroyed two important business centers, attacked the Pentagon, and destroyed expensive aircraft, not to mention hurt the economy. That's an act of war and should be responded to accordingly.

No, it is political. The people who have a problem with him being featured in the ad are bothered because they don't agree with his politics. If this campaign was focused on someone who shared your political beliefs (or at least didn't hold any that offended you) then I doubt you would have suddenly remembered -on the night of September 11th- that this campaign is really a fuck you to 9/11 heroes.  This is the way it is when you take a stand on a divisive issue.
