How refreshing to have a humble, inspiring champion who won for all the right reasons — structure, symmetry, condition, small waist. There’s a well-needed new energy that is back in the contest. (iHerb.com still sucks)
How pathetic that the Mr. O, supposedly the Super Bowl of bodybuilding,is being webcast on iHerb.com (wtf is that?) and the streaming doesn’t even work. Clearly Phil has taken the “sport” to new heights in terms of mainstream popularity and sponsor funding as the soon to be 8-time “ambassador.” Not sure how the IFBB could expect anything different as this demise was foreseeable. As a fan of the Haney/Dorian/Ronnie/(even Jay) eras, I am somewhat saddened to see the Mr. O contest in such sad form. What little of it actually streamed was terrible, most of the competitors are no names, and the only contenders are felons, past their prime, or would rather be stripping. Goodbye professional bodybuilding. You were never mainstream, but at least you were interesting and motivating to a degree. Now you’re just plain awful.
