Hi's body is already deteriorating, there are no existing drugs that he hasn't been taking up to now. Not likely to pull a 2009 Cutler comeback.

Exactly , more drugs means a worse gut at this point.

About time !!!!!!

Bodybuilding taking a step forward.  As surprised as I am I couldn't b happier and yes ! it was well deserved.

That abs and thighs shot of Phil has been the ugliest by any MrO in history.  Phil is crying while Haney and Ronnie are having a toast....... well at least Haney can afford to do so.
Besides the 7 purses he took home from his past winnings, which altogether total well north of $1 million, he's got a huge house in Colorado, several luxury cars, and profitable endorsement deals that aren't going bye-bye overnight, the same as Ronnie had a huge contract with BSN for 3-4 solid years after he hung up his thong. That's not including his personal investments, real estate, stock portfolio, guestposings, DVDs, gimmicky "gift" memberships, and the rich untapped potential revenue stream of personal training for a huge hourly rate.

He's far from broke. If people are going to troll him for losing, then don't invent stories of bankruptcy to spice it up.

Remember real athletes make far more millions than Phil and most end up going broke. Even though I’m not a fan I do think he is smarter and hopefully makes better choices with his money.

Is this like troll night on Getbig?  I was watching Canelo vs GGG, so didn't see the O finals.  No way in hell Heath took an L.

The fact that he doesn't make much money compared to them is why he probably values it more. When you make $40 million a year, you start to believe it's not even real and never runs out. Then the taxman comes and reminds you that half of it's due by April 30th and suddenly those eight Ferraris you bought aren't selling that easily on E-bay.

Phil came up the hard way. If he blows his money, I'd be surprised, least of all when he's on the defensive and trying to piece together a comeback. Once his haze of depression and the junk food he orders to his hotel room is gone, he'll throw the pizza boxes out and start his new off-season with (hopefully) non-machine training and get that hernia fixed so that gut comes back under control.

I agree. Since he earned the money slower and a smaller amount I believe he will take care of it better.

Also had no idea Rhoden is 43. Is that old for winning your first Olympia?

Ancient, but a lot of the line up is relatively old now.

Not quite.  Chris Dickerson was also 43 when he won his first Olympia.  BUT Rhoden is slightly older (by 3 months) according to my math:

Dickerson:  Aug 1939 - October 1982; 43 yrs 2 mos
Rhoden:  April 1975 - September 2018; 43 yrs 5 mos

Bingo.

Until Heath loses two consecutive Olympias (the real litmus test of a finished career), he's still in the game in a very real way.
Even if he loses again, there's no reason he couldn't still kill it as a weekend warrior.

Phil looked like a little bitch as he walked away.

Rumor has it, he has been acting like a prima donna with the higher execs and that could have led to his necessary humbling tonight. But you didn't hear it from me.

I would guess the dumbest and worst thing any pro bodybuilder could do would be to piss off Manion and/or Weinberger.

So Earl is right. Rhoden is the oldest Oylmpia winner ever.

Shawn Rhoden, Dreamkiller!!!!
Congratulationsto Shawn for making one of my dreams come true. As many know, I've been waiting for this a long time. Wish it would have been KAI but that's ok, I'm a Rhoden fan and after all these years of disrespect from Phil, I'm glad Shawn Dreamkiller Rhoden was able to get vengeance.

As for Phil, he had a helluva physique but lost his way. Hopefully he learns from this. Congrats to Lee Hanew and Ronnie, 8club is still an exclusive 2 members.

Try not to see it in those black & white terms.

Much as The Rock and Stone Cold left the WWE when Vince McMahon (and, more directly, his producers) asked those two megastars to make changes to their on-stage characters or say or do things they didn't feel like doing, due to their elite status, Phil was probably asked to do similar things for the IFBB, whether plugging them on his social media, or at the pre-show conference, or in other ways, and he refused to cooperate because he's a 7 time champion. That's all it can take to break a career in a highly politicized environment like the IFBB.

Heath didn't lose because of politics.  He got beat by Rhoden.  Phil simply wasn't the best guy onstage this year.

He was beaten the last 3 years, too, and still won. Unless you're Phil or his paymasters at the IFBB, you don't know what happened and neither does anyone else on this board.

This year it was obvious beating . There was no way to justify him winning and to tie the greats?. Hell no.

I thought Shawn won in 2015 and I was in the building that year. A lot of the crowd booed and walked out once the decision was announced.

Now I’m one who thinks these things are political and I’m not positive of what his relationship with the IFBB is. He isn’t popular with the fans and maybe the powers that be felt it was time for change.

If he isn’t back next year lots of new contenders  to make it exciting.! Roelly, Ramy, curry, and even Cedric who looked wonderful!
