Climbing Mount Olympus with the gods

A treat for all of you who want to amount to more in life than just roid filled biceps and abs.

I hung at Stan Lee's house yesterday in Beverly Hills and talked shop with the two absolute gods of comics; Stan Lee and Roy Thomas. If you don't know, between them they both created Spider-man, Wolverine, Carol Danvers aka Captain Marvel and the Avengers. Basically the guys who have made Disney/Marvel BILLIONS and Marvel the biggest film franchise of all time.

This was the first time in over 30 years that Roy and Stan got together privately and talked comics and I was there with them for this historical moment (in awe).

INDI-LAD, WOW!!!

Although I am no fan of anyone nor anything, I feel a bit jealous!

How did you manage that?

I have family members who work on and in these Super Hero movies but I don't think anyone even saw nor met Stan Lee while on set.

And Stan should hopefully get some kind of an Acadamy Award this season before it gets too late to accept it in person!

And sorry to say but.....  I am not familiar with Roy Thomas who must have entered the comic book scene many years lafter than Stan.

And is it possble that you have met a Mr. Witherby who does the 'ink-lines' for Marvel?

And you might want to consider that photo as 'priceless' in years to come!

And yes, I knew what the moment meant while it was happening. Heck, the entire day was a dream. I worked very hard to get to where I am and this was a true reward for all that work.

A taste of Roy Thomas' legacy. The industry owes Roy a thank you almost as it much as it does Stan.

Great stuff Indie-Lad! Great to see you living your dreams, this must have been an amazing day for you and all concerned.

Just curious, you said how much money these two have made for Disney and the movie industry......has some of that money made its way back to these guys? I believe Stan has cashed in but not sure to what extent and not in the know about Roy Thomas at all. Hopefully they have both been properly compensated for their ideas and innovation.

No. I'm in the comic side of the business although I've dealt with a few people on the movie side.

Yes, I'm in the last photo ever taken with Stan Lee. I'm immortalized forever with the two biggest comic legends ever. Last thing I did was hug Stan and he said "God Bless you John..." less than 48 hours later he died. It was bitter sweet.
